I was one of Mr. Palafox's students in 2016. He was one of my favorite teachers. He always had his door open. I remember how he would let me talk about Marvel movies when he had time after school. One of my fondest memories of him is when he sat down and tapped the seat next to him so we could talk about Dr. Strange after I finished my exam. He was one of the teachers I always made sure to visit after graduation. He meant a lot to me and helped me more than I can ever express during my time at West Tech.
Mr. Palafox was one of the most accepting, understanding, and all around safest teacher I've ever had. I was his student in 2013 and he was always my favorite. Finding out about his passing is just heart breaking. I hope his family and friends are at peace. We are all privileged to have known Mr. Palafox in our lives in one way or another.

I am very sorry to hear about Mr Palafox's passing.  In sophomore year, I had him for geometry and remember him as a cheerful teacher who was always working closely with kids to make sure we understood. It was one of the math classes that I was able to take a lot away from, and looking back it shows his excellence as a teacher and what a great attitude he had working with students. I hope the absolute best for his loved ones and those close to him and I am so sorry for your loss ❤️

Mr. Palafox was my freshman year math teacher, and he was one of my favorite teachers by far. He never made anyone feel lesser or stupid if math wasn’t their strong suit, and he always believed in every one of us. I’m so sorry for your loss, and want you to know that Mr. Palafox moved mountains with everything he did and with everyone he met.
Our deepest condolences to Chris and Kevin's family. We are heart broken.  We wrap you in the warmth of loving prayers. Larry and Michelle

Deepest condolences to Chris and Kevin's family.   There are no 'right' words to say.  I was on several family 'gatherings' with Chris and Kevin.   Love them both!!!     There was something very special about Kevin - All kindness and Light!   It does not surprise me to hear all these stories about his kindness.   Only Angels can produce that much love!!   Praying for all of you.  He will never be forgotten.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Palafox was my trigonometry teacher in 2014 and he was always so kind to me. I didn't have many friends in high school, so Mr. Palafox always let me sit in his classroom during lunch with him so I didn't have to sit alone. He was a great teacher and even kinder person.

Sharing on Behalf of West Career and Technical Academy:

The West Tech family is mourning the loss of our friend and colleague, Kevin Palafox, who passed away September 30, 2023, after a short illness.

Mr. Palafox came to West in 2013 and was a member of the math department. He loved his subject and his students! He advised numerous clubs and activities, and was a favorite among his students and colleagues alike. He built many lasting friendships at West Tech. He loved adventure and traveling, and enjoyed sports and food. He was the most likely to dress up for a Spirit Day and was always "in" for any spirit or social activity. He moved to the Washington DC area for a new adventure in 2022 and was loving living near our nation's capital. Mr Palafox will always be part of the West CTA story and forever a part of our family.

Our love and condolences go out to his family and his Spouse Chris. To that end, West has started a fund for the Kevin Palafox Memorial Scholarship. The link to donate is: https://webstores.activenetwo…

Mr. Palafox was a highly respected and much loved teacher and coach at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School with a large following of students who adored him. He made a major impact on the lives of many and will always be remembered by the kids he taught and coached as an exceptionally kind, compassionate, and generous teacher and coach. Our hearts ache for his loved ones for while our community’s loss is huge, it is nothing compared to his family’s.

I met Mr. Palafox in 2011 when he was my math teacher at Faiss Middle School. It was a difficult year for me as I had just moved to Vegas from Atlanta and found myself being one of the only African American students in my grade. Mr. Palafox was so kind to me, to everyone really. But his kindness and sincerity was a light that always stayed with me. Rest in Paradise and may there be comfort to your partner, family, and loved ones <3
Rip homie I will remember your friendliness and your kindness and the laughter we shared on the soccer field....we are state champions...condolences to your family...respect
My deepest condolences to the family. I met Kevin in 6th grade. I had just changed schools and Kevin was one of the friendliest kids in the class. He helped me feel welcomed. He was smart, athletic, and kind. We all looked up to him. Rest in Peace, Kevin 🕊️❤️
