Kevin's obituary
We mournfully announce the passing of Kevin Allen Peterson, 58, of Elkhorn, NE. (Formerly Avoca, Iowa and Parkville, MO.) Kevin passed away on November 23, 2022, in Atlanta, GA, after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Kevin, took his first breath on December 11, 1963 in Harlan, Iowa. Kevin was a force to be reckoned with from the get go, full of ornery energy and humor. For those of us that knew and loved him, Kevin's zest was accepted and understood. For those not so fortunate as to be part of his inner circle, and on the receiving end of some of his pranks, the feelings were perhaps not so endearing. (We get that! LOL) Kevin graduated from AvoHa High School, in Avoca, Iowa in 1982. While Kevin never married, he lived a full and vibrant life with more friends than you could count.
From 2003, Kevin lived in the Kansas City area for almost 10 years to be close to his sister, Sue Mills, and her son Alex Mills, of Parkville, MO.
His nephew, Alex Mills, of Parkville, MO meant more to him than words can describe. Kevin spent several years as Assistant Coach of Alex's little league baseball team, and was proudly on hand when Alex's high school team won the Kansas 4A State Baseball title in 2008. He was in the bleachers for every baseball game, football game and wrestling match Alex participated in proudly cheering.
In 2012, Kevin moved back to the Omaha area, and in 2017 began working for his uncle, Don Gardiner. In the past 5 years Kevin has made countless memories with family, friends old and new. His love of the Kansas City Chiefs is legendary, and he particularly loved a good watch party for Chiefs games.
Kevin was diagnosed with cancer in April of 2022 and spent the summer and fall valiantly fighting while also living life to the fullest with all of the people he loved.
We will miss him and his quirky one liner dearly (Hey Little Buddy, Looks like Puddy). In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society in Kevin's name.
