Kenneth's obituary
Kenneth Owen Daley, of Hopewell, Hanover (and later Spring Gardens, St James) went home to be with his Creator, Saviour and Sustainer on Thursday August 26, 2021. Kenneth grew up in Sav-la-mar, Westmoreland.
His life's work was a Mechanical Technician which led him to being trained with Ford in London, serving in a senior position with Northern Industrial Garage and proprietor of Daley's General Auto Repair in Montego Bay. He was a problem-solver and consummate people person which endeared him to his many employees and customers who became his family and friends.
He spent more than half his life as a member of the Hopewell (Zion) Missionary Church in Hanover. There he served variously as Men's Leader, Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon and Elder. Ken assumed leadership of the congregation on several occasions (for significant stints) when there was no Minister. He was known for his quiet disposition, his love for all and his commitment to the preparation and presentation of the Word at Bible Studies and in Worship Services.
Beyond his work and Church life, Ken is best remembered for being a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and on and on. He wooed and married Hannah Louise Coore on August 29, 1960. Together they raised their children Kenneth Jr, Denise, Debbie and Audrey as the primary focus of their lives - with sacrificial love and in the nurture of God. Ken's grandchildren were the beneficiaries his untiring devotion and hands-on care. He was a protective, playful and prayerful companion to all of them - whether near or far.
Ken will be dearly missed and always remembered. May his soul rest in peace and light perpetual shine on him!
