To Kaki's Family,

Please know you have my heartfelt condolences for your loss. When I arrived at Delta in August of 1989, Kaki was the first Flight Attendant instructor I met. I will never forget that moment because I immediately felt welcomed by Kaki as she created a sense of belonging for me even though we just met. Over time I had the privilege of working alongside Kaki as an instructor and my appreciation for her human connection only grew. I had countless interactions with Kaki over several years and every single one of them left me feeling the same way - connected. She was indeed a source of light! I can only imagine the loss you must feel and I wish you peace and strength now and in the days ahead. All who interacted with Kaki understood she was a gift from God, and I am grateful that she is now in His company.

I so enjoyed knowing Kaki during our time together at MVBC. Our boys are close in age and shared church life together. We even took a hike up Stone Mountain once and enjoyed the fireworks show that evening. Boy was it hot but we had a great time! Kaki always had a smile on her face and you couldn't help but have fun and be encouraged by her. We stayed in touch over the years and she certainly will be missed. Kaki was such an amazing person. I do not remember her ever not smiling. I met her when she moved to the Union City school system. After high school we became even better friends. She was always such a great support system when I needed it. In the last 10 years we had several meetings and one trip with other classmates from Union City to Washington D.C, one of the best weekends I ever had. I will remember her smile forever.

Kaki was such a bright light! We became friends through the kids being in school together, PTA activities, etc. Me and my kids (John & Jamie) sometimes cut her grass after hearing that their lawnmower wasn’t starting or that they were out of town. You just did that for friends. We moved away in 2010 to Dallas, now we are in Lake St Lous MO. When I returned to GA, we’d meet to chat or have a quick lunch when I came back into town. I last saw Kaki during a lunch in 2015, at Howards, but our convo’s continued. I loved hearing about her adventures and all the success she had at Delta. Kaki introduced me and my mom to Plexus, too. :) I’ve recently reread all of our text messages and IM’s that we shared - lol. It was fun chatting about our kids and keeping up through the years. ☺️ I will keep them forever! Heaven has gained the sweetest angel! Hugs to Greer & Aaron and the wonderful women in your lives. She loved you all dearly! I’ve contributed to the Am Cancer Society for the memorial to be at Hope Lodge. God Bless!

To the family of Kaki Rogers Henderson. I am terribly sorry for the loss of Kaki. We became Facebook friends simply because we both shared the name "Kaki." I saw her name pop up and sent her a message introducing myself and she immediately accepted my invitation and cherished the fact we shared the same name. She was a champion for me while going through breast cancer, encouraging me while facing her own battle with MDC. I loved seeing her with her dear friends where she was ALWAYS smiling. May God Bless her and keep her in the palm of His hand. Rest in peace dear Kaki.
