Johan's obituary
Residing in Baden, Switzerland, very sadly and unexpectedly Johan passed away while on a business trip in Mannheim, Germany on February 15, 2023.
Born on 9 February 1971 to Kjell and Christina in Västeras, Sweden, Johan was a very competitive athlete in track and field during his high school years. After high school, he went on to pursue an MSc in Computer Science and Engineering at Linköping University in Sweden. In 1995, he graduated and landed his first job at ABB as Product Manager Operations. In 2001, he was assigned to ABB Singapore office. There he met his wife, Herlina, and they got married in 2005. They went on to have 2 beautiful children, Kiona and Fiomena. From 2003 to 2015, he has lived in Shanghai, Beijing, Singapore and Abu Dhabi, before eventually residing in Baden, Switzerland. Until the day he passed, he has been employed at ABB for 27 years. Throughout his tenure at ABB, he has been a very dedicated employee and a highly valued member of the organization. Without a doubt, ABB has made up a large part of his life.
With his family, Johan was a very dedicated father and husband who effortlessly balanced his work and home life. He was always doing fun activities and outdoor adventures with his children. Always full of energy and lightness, it’s impressive how he could glide through everything that comes his way with ease and optimism.
Johan’s biggest passions were electronic gadgets, traveling and photo taking. He loved to try out the latest electronic gadgets. Johan loved to travel. Together with his wife, he would explore far reaching destinations and distinctly interesting places every chance they get. By age 43, he has already traveled to more than 50 countries.
Johan loved statues and especially facial images that resemble the Buddha. He liked them because he felt that they gave a sense of peace.
Another thing that stands out about Johan is his drive for self-improvement and self-development. He taught himself Chinese Mandarin when he lived in China, Arabic when he lived in Abu Dhabi, and German when he lived in Switzerland. Not many foreigners have the motivation and willingness to learn to read and write Mandarin and make it seem effortless when they are doing it. The same applies to Arabic language.
In his brief time with us, Johan has lived live with fullness, lightness of being, and he has achieved much. Sadly, he has left us too soon.
Johan will be greatly, deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Herlina; children, Kiona and Fiomena; brother, Lars.
❤️Forever in our hearts ❤️ 🕊️May you soar to eternal heights 🕊️
A funeral service will be held on 24 March 2023 at 13:30 o’clock at Domkyrkan church in downtown Vasteras, Sweden.
