I learned of Joan’s passing today. I send my condolences to Dick and his family. It’s so hard to lose a partner, mother and friend. Blessings to you all.
We can't feel saddened over the loss of those we love without first remembering the joy of loving them. That real sadness would have been never having had them in our lives at all.
Remembering is a journey the heart takes, back into a time that was, and our thoughts are the only tickets needed to ride.
Joan was my high school friend beginning in the fall of 1951 in Kansas City. I want to write some recollections from our earlier years so will mail it to Julie for her to share with the family a bit later. I grieve with you at her loss but give thanks for the richness of her friendship. Her mother was a surrogate mother for me during my nursing education years in the mid 1950's. I loved the house at 1736? Mapleton. I shall try to catch the memorial service. Thank you for sharing . Charles and Margaret Hunter
Joan was also a great steward of family genealogical information. We have learned and benefited from her deep study and preservation of materials. Blessings to Joan's family!
