Jessica's obituary
Jessica (Hartmann) Artt, born on August 30, 1983, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024, after a courageous six-year battle with brain cancer. She faced her journey with unwavering grace, immense bravery, and a steadfast trust in God’s plan, serving as a beacon of light and inspiration to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Jessica grew up in Apopka, Florida where her heart and soul were shaped by a life dedicated to compassion, service, and an unwavering love for others. She earned a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Florida and devoted herself to impacting others’ lives in meaningful ways. Whether teaching seventh-grade social studies in Charlotte, NC, leading mission trips to Brazil, driving business growth as a Senior Development officer at Atlanta Mission and ValleyCrest Landscape, Jessica’s innate kindness, sharp wit, and boundless empathy allowed her to make a lasting impact on every life she encountered.
At the core of Jessica’s being was her selflessness and devotion to those around her. Whether serving the homeless at the Atlanta Day Shelter, acting as an ambassador for cancer patients at Piedmont Hospitals’s Brain Tumor Center, lovingly nurturing and stewarding her children, or offering a listening ear to a friend in need, Jessica’s life was a testament to giving without expectation and loving without condition. Her profound sense of devotion to others was matched only by the depth of her love for God and her family.
She is preceded in death by her father, Bruce Hartmann. She is survived by her beloved children, Canaan (9) and Evangeline “Evie” (8), who were her greatest joys; her mother, Cynthia Allen and step-father Ron Allen; her sisters, Layla Hartmann and Sara (Hartmann) Castle, and stepbrothers and sisters-in-law, Meredith and Clint Allen, and Jackie and Chad Allen, who were her lifelong confidantes and best friends; and her adored nephews Addington “Addy” and Finn Castle as well as her kids supportive father, Nathan Artt. Jessica’s love for her family was limitless, and her legacy will endure in the hearts of those she cherished most.
While her time on earth has ended, Jessica’s spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Her family finds solace in knowing that she is now at peace, rejoicing in the presence of her Savior. Jessica will always be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend—whose life was a radiant reflection of love, hope, and kindness.
