For my brother Scott and I “Uncle Jerry'' was someone we looked up to and always enjoyed seeing. When we came over he would often play the Beatles and other music that we liked. One song that I heard him play both in 1969 and in later years was “California Dreamin.” I wonder if that’s how he felt about coming to California and making his dreams come true there.

In going through my pictures I realized that Jerry is never alone. He is always standing proudly next to someone or helping them.

He was simultaneously the voice of common sense and an advocate for letting people pursue life as they wanted to live it. I am eternally grateful for the moral support and guidance that he gave me. Rest in peace Uncle Jerry.
