Jerry was a true inspiration to all who knew him. His boundless energy and cheerfulness were contagious, whether he was interacting with staff, faculty or students. Jerry was a dynamic servant leader. He spoke with my wife Lisa over MS Teams, since Lisa is disabled and was at home, and Jerry not only encouraged her through her pain, he also prayed over Lisa and brought her to tears of joy. I always felt better after a conversation with Jerry. His love of God and others was amazing. I believe that Lisa and I will see him again someday in heaven, and Lisa and Jerry won't be suffering anymore! My life is better because Jerry was a part of it. See you soon, my brother!

Jerry has been an amazing guy. His boundless energy and tireless work to help and uplift everyone has been an inspiration for me. Jerry was the director of the internship and placement program in the Jonsson School at UT Dallas. As the Dept Head of Computer Science during Jerry's tenure at UTD, I interacted with him almost daily. Always cheerful and smiling, always full of ideas, and always working hard. It was a big loss to the Jonsson School and the CS Dept when he retired. Jerry was connected 10s of thousands of people on LinkedIn (28,000, if my memory is correct), mostly UTD students and alumni. He would use his vast network to help students find jobs, internships, etc. What an amazing guy. Every time I saw Jerry in the hallway, it lit me up as his energy and enthusiasm was infectious. What has been a gain for the angels in heaven, has been a big loss for us. Rest in peace, Jerry.

My mom and I have such sweet memories of Jerry working in the Labyrinth. He would go up to mom and say, "Taylor's mom can you cut this?" since she had all the tools. He made an impression on her in just a few meetings and she recalls him as the sweetest man. He really was. <3

Jerry gardening in the courtyard; literally digging in to any job he could help with.

Jerry wanted to know "who you are" not just "how are you doing". He made great conversation unlike anyone else I've known. What an honor to have had visits and outings with him. With Peace and Love, Mark.

Jerry’s light always shined bright. He was always helping others and building them up. I particularly remember his starting and leading a church support group for job seekers during the 2008-2009 recession. Caring for himself, I remember his love of playing basketball at our Coppell church and all the universities he worked at!

Dad and I had a lot of great times with Jerry over the last few months, going to movies, pubs, and concerts - he was always in good spirits and a lot of fun to hang out with. We'll be thinking of him whenever we go out, or stay in to catch a Mavs game.

I Will miss Jerry’s infectious smile and optimistic attitude. His love for Jana and Hannah was inspiring. The world is a less beautiful place without him.

We will miss Jerry so very much. He was a large part of our family’s lives. Our children have known and grown up with Hannah. Jana and Jerry are our best friends and he will be in our heart and prayers. Jerry was a gentle soul with integrity, godliness and a great sense of humor.
