Jennings's obituary
Jennings Randolph III was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 31, 1969 and died November 18, 2022. Jay Junior, as he was known by most, graduated from Ladue High School and the University of South Carolina. Jay was a talented junior golfer, earning a scholarship to play for South Carolina. Shortly after graduating in 1991, he began a 30-year career in radio broadcasting. Later in his career Jay became a golf ambassador for several area courses, positively impacting interest in the game he loved.
The outpouring of sympathy and the quantity of memories shared following announcement of his illness are testament to the beloved friend, broadcaster and character who brought joy to so many.
Jay is survived by his daughter Grace Randolph (husband Andy Peterson), son Jennings Randolph IV, parents Sue and Jay Randolph, sister Rebecca, brother Brian, former wife Suzanne Wagstaff, and partner Amy LaBelle. He is deeply missed by family, friends, and all he touched through radio, podcasts, and personal relationships. Jay was preceded in death by his grandparents Mary and Senator Jennings Randolph, and Marjorie and Robert Henderson.
We are grateful to the Pathways Hospice and Palliative Care team of Delmar Gardens for providing compassionate care that allowed Jay to die they way he wished, at home with Amy and his family. Jay asked that anyone interested in making memorial contributions be directed to Annie's Hope, The Center For Grieving Kids 1333 W. Lockwood, Suite 104, St. Louis, MO 63122, annieshope.org.
