Jennifer's obituary

Jennifer Beth Sloneker (Cole), age 65, passed away on April 2, 2025, in Birmingham, Alabama. Born on July 21, 1959, in Buckhannon, West Virginia, Jennifer lived a life marked by creativity, resilience, and a free-spirited nature that touched all who knew her.

Jennifer was the beloved partner of John Davis and the devoted mother of two daughters, Melanie Sloneker (Grant) and Natalie Sloneker. She also leaves behind her three brothers and step siblings—Greg Cole (Jennifer), Jon Cole (Rhonda), Chris Cole (Kelly), Michael O'Connor (Ava), Erin Dawson and Bruce Thompson (Karen)—who shared in the memories of their upbringing and the bonds of sibling hood. She was preceded in death by her father Robert Cole, her stepfather David O'Connor, and her mother Margaret O'Connor.

A woman of many passions, Jennifer found joy in music and was especially fond of playing the piano. Her love for animals was evident in the care she gave to her cats and the gentle attention she offered to the neighborhood deer she regularly fed. She had a deep appreciation for creativity and expressed herself through craft projects that reflected her artistic soul.

Jennifer’s strong will and independent spirit were defining traits throughout her life. Those who knew her admired her authenticity and the unique way she approached the world around her. Whether through music or quiet moments spent with nature, she cultivated beauty in everyday life.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Aldridge Gardens, located at 3530 Lorna Rd., Hoover, Alabama 35216.
