Jamie's obituary
Jamie Graham Hijmans, age 36, passed away on October 20, 2024. The youngest son of an elementary school librarian and a broadcast and satellite communications engineer, Jamie grew up in Edwards, Colorado. He graduated from Battle Mountain High School (Class of 2007), where some of his favorite memories were made on the football field. In his early adulthood, he made his home in the Front Range, where he met his wife, Kyler. Jamie earned a Ph.D. in Integrative Physiology at the University of Colorado Boulder before returning to Eagle County. Kyler and Jamie made Eagle their home, welcoming their daughter, Pax, into their family in 2020. A caring and devoted husband and father, Jamie enjoyed sharing his love of the mountains with Pax. He was an avid skier and mountain biker, with his most recent accomplishment being the completion of the Leadville 100 MTB in 10:33:35 in August 2024.
Jamie treasured the friendships he built over the years, connecting with people from many walks of life in Eagle County, Denver, Boulder, and beyond, with friends, coworkers, and colleagues across the U.S. and around the world. He cared deeply for his local community, and his friends will remember his loyalty and kindness, always ready to lend a hand, cook a meal, share a laugh, or get outside for a ride. Known for his willingness to take on a big climb or rip a fun downhill, he secretly loved the views the most and rarely missed an opportunity for a good selfie.
Jamie served as President and Chief Technical Officer of Global Exponential Technologies, where he established himself as a leader in the development of AI-powered applications to support regulatory submissions in the medical device and biopharma industries. He dedicated his career to creating innovative solutions, proudly identifying as a forward-thinking optimist and relentless nerd. His work and vision have left a lasting impression, and he inspired many people along the way.
Jamie was preceded in death by his mother, Jackie. He is survived by his wife, Kyler; their daughter, Pax; his father, Marty; and his brother and sister-in-law, Carey and Liz. Jamie’s love for his family and friends, his enthusiasm for life, his contagious laughter, and his dedication to his work will be missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Jamie’s life will be held on November 9, 2024, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the EagleVail Pavilion. All are welcome to come and remember the life of our cherished friend and loved one.
