Imani's obituary
Imani was confident in what she wanted and always had a plan. She was never unsure about her choices and defined success and failure on her terms. She approached everything with a sense of purpose and was always determined to succeed. She set a high bar in everything she pursued and achieved exceptional results through effort and sheer determination.
She was as balanced as a 171/2-year-old spirit could be. She achieved phenomenal grades at school, worked as a Thrive Gymnastics tutor, and hated her household chores. She would have inciteful conversations with everyone from her priest during her first communion prep classes to her grandmother and grandfather about the law and becoming a lawyer. Her dreams and ambitions knew no bounds.
Anyone who knew anything about Imani knew that her passion was dancing. It was her escape, her chance to express her individuality and make friends. To that end, nothing was more important and, although not naturally graceful, forced her body and her mind to do amazing things. Her home and escape for the last five years was Level Dance Project that supported the turning of her dreams into reality. She made many friends, and we are thankful for their love and support.
In the short time that Imani was with us, she touched so many people and set us a clear path. Some of our abiding memories include nothing but the best will do, follow your passion, try till you succeed, no odd numbers, shiny things are right, the speed limit is flexible, and all brothers, including twin brothers, are irritating.
May her soul Rest In Peace
