Hilary's obituary
It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Hilary Lumax (Oldham) on May 3, 2023 at the young age of 31.
Hilary was born in White Rock, BC and moved with her family to Okotoks, AB in 2001. She graduated from Holy Trinity Academy High School in 2009 before becoming a homemaker and mother to her three beautiful children, whom she loved dearly.
Hilary’s life may have been cut short, but she touched the hearts of many while she was with us. Hilary will be remembered for her contagious laughter, her bright smile that always lit up the room, and the way she made people feel at ease in her presence. One of her greatest passions was music and she often used her beautiful singing voice to bring joy to those around her. Hilary embraced people from all walks of life without judgement. She was a free spirit, determined to pave her own path.
Hilary spent the last years of her life bravely battling bipolar disorder, an incurable mental illness. Despite her own struggles she continued to be giving and generous with those around her, and in her last gift to others was an organ donor. The family would like to thank all of the people she met along her journey that loved and supported Hilary.
Rest in peace Hilary, your loved ones are in good hands and the war within your mind is over.
Hilary is survived by her three children, Abigail (10), Westley (9) and Ivy (7), her parents Brenda Donaven and Mike Oldham (Brenda) and her sisters Kim Nix (Jarred), Tamara Palladino (Mike), and Lauren Oldham, who will miss her dearly. She is predeceased by her paternal and maternal grandparents and her step father Steve.
A private service will be held for family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Canadian Mental Health Association in Hilary’s name.
