Abbelienne and I will miss Hal.  He was always a joy to talk to. I only knew him 2 years but he really was a kind man.  Abby loved Hal and always wanted to see him for a pat on the head.

Even though I grew up in "The Flats" and was CHS class of 1966, I did not know Hal until we both ended up on Coronado Youth Soccer board. I knew he had married my classmate (1966) Anne.  Hal's ready smile and positive attitude made him a pleasure to work with.

Finding me a younger and gullible "victim" Hal handed over The All Class Reunion to me in the 90's telling me it was an easy event to make $$$ for the Schools Foundation and passed me a couple of pages of volunteers.  However the event moved from the smaller enclosed controlled Coronado Yacht Club to the old Coronado Golf Course Clubhouse and with it came new additional difficulties  such as a much open and larger venue requiring professional security,  more incidents, more cash taken in, etc to monitor.  (A prime example was during the Golf Course remodel we had to move to a large tent through which Anne's "x" attempted to ride his chopper bike. )Thus my presence was required  on site from 3 PM on the 3rd  of July to about 2 AM on the 4th of July.   During those hours I was only devoted to tasks on hand at the All Class.  Little did I  know that my son, Rory, was taking on Hal habits and instigated THE THIRD at 620 Margarita which were full blown keggers packed with body to body partyers in our back yard.  THE THIRD continued during my tenure running the All Class until some interlopers from the East across the bay instigated a stabbing.

My grandson, Ryder, (Class of 2026) has grown up in "Hal's alley" between F and G/2nd and 3rd.  Ryder said that he would greatly miss Hal because Hal was "KIND".  In our present world of violence and dissension Hal lead by example in that he bestowed to at least one person of the younger generation the existence and virtue of "kindness".   And thus Hal's legacy will live on as he was "KIND."

So sad to hear this news. Hal was always such a gentleman to me, even tho my generation of Coronado kids bootlegged the Bike Races he and his pals perfected here on the island. It was always an endless debate as to which generation had more fun. Haha. Gonna miss you, Hal. Rest in peace, old friend.
Megan, while I did not know your dad, I remember you and your mom fondly. I just wanted you to know that I am thinking of you at this difficult time and would love to connect. Sending you love and light.

Hal was our neighbor.  We are on 222.  Will miss seeing him walking sweet Bella & stopping for a chat.  Condolences to his family.
