Gregory's obituary

A Celebration of life

Gregory James Makar, 79 of West Palm Beach Florida, passed away on June 12, 2025. Born in Yonkers, New York on October 22, 1945, he was the youngest son of Michael and Mary Krupa Makar. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Carol Ann Makar (D'Agostino).

He attended PS 25, Longfellow Jr. High and C.E. Gorton HS. Greg earned a Bachelor’s Degree in business from New York University. While attending college he was a member of Psi Upsilon Fraternity.  

Greg was a software engineer For AT&T of White Plains, NY for 30 years. After retirement Greg worked with friends and his wife Carol at Jeff Wright Real Estate group of Trumbull Ct.

For a number of years Greg resided in Galloway, New Jersey and wintered in Florida. Greg eventually moved full time to West Palm Beach Florida and resided most recently at the Noreen McKeen residence in the later years of his life. 

Greg and Carol often hosted large holiday gatherings at their home with family and friends. Greg always enjoyed cooking & making home made wine & anisette with his "cuz" (Anthony Capece Sr. )

Greg is survived by:

He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael R. Makar, Sr. Surviving are his nephews: Michael R. Makar, Jr., and his wife Marianne of Bradenton, FL, and their sons Scott Makar of Jacksonville, FL; and John E. Makar and his wife Lillian, and their children John Jr. (Eileen) and their children Jake and Cory, Stephanie Makar, and Jennifer (Robert) Dillon and their children Robert Jr., Rachel, and Ryan. Also surviving is his close cousin Gene Makar of Pennsylvania." Greg was also very close to his cousins by marriage Anthony Jr., Maryann, and now deceased Edward Capece. Greg is survived by his sister in law Ann Marie Daniels and dear friends Pat & Olga D'Agostino  and their family & dear friend for many years Genie Young

Upcoming: Celebration of Life Services:

Greg's arrangement have been placed in the care of Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, Connecticut.

On July 18th, 2025. at 12 Noon  a Christian Entombment service will be scheduled at the St. Monica Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull, Connecticut. Greg will be laid to rest on along side his beloved Carol.
