Gilbert “Gil” Foudray
Gil Foudray (78) of Marion, IN, surrounded by his loved ones, was called to the Lord’s side on Monday, October 27th, 2025 following a brief illness.
Gil was born to Belford and Lillie Bell Foudray on August 6, 1947 at Marion General Hospital five minutes after his twin sister, Laura. Gil is one of eleven children and grew up in Marion graduating from Marion High School in 1966. Gil is preceded in death by his siblings Laura Woodall, Frances “Frankie” Clark, James “Jim” Foudray, Dorothy Miller, Madeline Thompson, Ronald “Ronnie” Foudray, Ina Foudray, and Jean Hogan
Remaining to cherish Gil’s memory is his loving wife of 39 years, Linda, his son, Kelly (Lorietta) Foudray, daughters Starlina (Brent) Hines, Sara (Ryan) Booth, and beloved siblings: brother, Jr. (Joyce) Foudray, and sister, Ann Loch. Survivors also include Gil’s grandchildren, Grayson Hines, Reagan Foudray, Graham Booth and bonus grandchildren Mark, Ashley and Kirsten, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be greatly missed by his many friends (namely, his life-long friend, Ronnie (Anita) Stodghill), customers, and co-workers at Barry Bunker Chevrolet.
Gil was well known in the Marion area as the “RV guy” having started his career working at Doug’s Trailer at the age of 12. He later took over the station providing truck/trailer/fuel service(s) for many years. Gil then started Carefree RV Sales & Service located on the bypass and was proud to serve customers with integrity. He later closed the storefront, but continued to provide RV, truck, trailer services across the surrounding counties.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at 1pm Friday, November 7, 2025 at Grace Community Church (1810 E. Bradford, Marion, IN 46952) where Gil and Linda were longtime members. Pastor Tom Mansbarger will officiate the memorial.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Community Church, local food banks/pantries or his memorial fund.
