Geoffrey's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Geoffrey Edward Murray Whitlock, beloved husband, son, brother, friend, mentor, and entrepreneur. Born on March 12, 1978, his life was defined by a passion for innovation, an unwavering devotion to helping others, and the deep love he shared with family, friends, and colleagues.

Geoff is survived by his mother, Linda (Martin); brother, Charlie (Santanna); and loving wife of 20 years, Kaydi, who shared his adventurous spirit and commitment to making the world a better place. Together, they raised and trained seven guide dogs who went on to change lives for people with medical disabilities, a cause that brought them both immense joy and pride.

To have known Geoff was to experience his warmth, generosity, and devotion firsthand. He was adored by the Rumble, Whitlock, Walsh, Guatto and Pyette families and cherished by countless friends and colleagues whose lives he touched deeply.

Geoff was an award-winning entrepreneur and visionary who founded many companies, including Custodia, a company dedicated to helping seniors age in place with dignity and independence. His work was not just a career but a calling that fuelled his mind and soul.

Geoff’s energy and generous spirit knew no bounds. He was a champion for others, always celebrating their wins and accomplishments, and he was a mentor to many, inspiring people of all ages to chase their dreams and realize their potential. Known for his booming laugh, his unbridled enthusiasm, and his ability to light up a room, Geoff had a rare talent for making everyone feel capable of greatness. He lived without regret, embracing every challenge as an opportunity to grow.

An avid outdoor enthusiast, Geoff shared a love of adventure with Kaydi. Together, they travelled the world—from Iceland to Argentina, Malaysia to the Yukon. He was never more content than when paddling in the wilderness of northern Ontario.

Though born with a heart condition, Geoff never let it define or limit him. His life was one of unstoppable energy, relentless curiosity, and bold ambition. Geoff was the ultimate dreamer and doer, thriving on big ideas, big goals and building—whether it was businesses, teams, friendships or memories.

While Geoff’s loss leaves an irreplaceable void, his legacy of love, innovation, and giving will continue to inspire all who were lucky enough to know him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides or Doctors Without Borders, honouring Geoff’s commitment to helping others.

A celebration of Geoff’s life will be held for family and friends on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the Oakville Club (56 Water St, Oakville, ON), from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
