It is so difficult to believe Eric has passed. He was such a kind gentleman who we looked forward to meeting each year. Our meetings would always start with him checking in on our family. His genuine interest in what we had to say always made such an impression. The world has lost one special man way too early. 

Emma, Pearl and Asa you were his world. Eric was a true gift to those who had the pleasure to  have known him. You are in our prayers.

I have known Eric's sister, Allison, for over ten years. Her love for her family and how she always talks about her brother/ sister’s adventures and then about her nephews and nieces showed me what a great family they are. To the whole Ratzel family, my deepest condolences; I'm hoping you can find some comfort in your heart knowing that Eric is now an angel watching you all the time.

To Emma, Pearl, and Asa, so much love. Eric was the best of the neighborhood dads. Truly a light in this world. The best story he told me was about getting disciplined at work for wearing leggings and Uggs on Casual Friday. We love you guys, and we are here for you. Molly, Joe, Frances & Auggie
