  • My deepest condolences to Douglas, Daniel and Donovan, and Irene as well as her other relatives. I met Betsy at "High Scope" which was a gathering place for friendly people near Ann Arbor.
  • Betsy and I hung out for a couple of years and have always kept in touch since then. She was an enthusiastic musician and friend, and a terrific organizer, especially at the schools where she taught.
  • It was great of Douglas to invite her to move nearby him in Austin and I appreciate his caregiving.
  • Rest in peace, dear Betsy.
Betsy and I were part of a large singles group in the Detroit area. We first met on a tennis court in 1987. We also began attending Amuuse camp retreats in the same year 1991. She used to comment that our singles lives ran parallel to each other! I attended parties at her home including a memorable one on new years eve in 1991. She was a gifted teacher who lent her skills to organizing a camp choir every year. In later years when visiting my nephew in Austin I twice visited her at the facilities she was living in. May her memory be a blessing and her soul be bound in the bonds of eternal life.

Betsy and I go way way back to the 1960s when we met in Plainfield High School. We graduated together from PHS in 1965. Over the years, we wrote short letters to each other as she went her way and I went mine. On one of her visits back to NJ many years later, she and Don and Douglas came to our house for dinner. That was the last time I ever saw Betsy but years later we connected again via Facebook. Today I learned of her passing and words cannot express how saddened I am to know my friend, who was always vibrant, giggly, animated, funny and sweet, is gone. My thoughts are with her family as they maneuver this awful time.

Rest in Peace, Betsy
