Ned was the older brother of my best friend Mike- so he figured large in my life in many ways and I have so many good memories of Ned that will always be with me; Ned took us to our first concerts (including the Animals and Aerosmith at the Toledo Sport's Arena), took us fishing out at the Labino ponds, hung out with us at the Garn family cabin up in Northern Michigan, and even helped fix my car a few times. He was always a quiet and steady presence- and it always felt lucky to be able to be around him growing up. Plainly put, he was just a cool guy- and one who will be dearly missed by all of those whose lives he touched.
Cousin Ned was just that much older than me that while I knew who he was, he was out of Uncle John and Aunt Mark Kay's house by the time I was old enough to know what was going on in life. Ned became this cool, mythical cousin that I saw at holidays and weddings. I would hear stories about his different jobs and whatever else he was up to. When we did see each other, I took notes on his free spirit which inspired me in life. Ned was always kind to me as you would expect from his gentle spirt. We had a great time catching up the last time we saw each other. I'm happy to see everyone getting a chance to remember Ned here.

I have no idea where to start but Ned was like my older brother I never had. Definitely listening to loud music (WIOT 104.7, mainly) had a huge influence as I still love Skynard, Zeppelin, and Aerosmith. Ned and Mike also had an old school desk in their room that had an expertly drawn Boston debut album cover on it. Who drew that?? Also, Ned driving fast! to Grandpa Labino's in his Monte Carlo(?) with me sliding around on the back seat laughing with Mike. I admit I never had the guts to try the chewing tobacco though. I had great memories not only with Ned but all of the Garns. They provided me great childhood memories in the 70's and 80's. My apologies for not being able to attend but you all will be on my mind.
