In lieu of flowers

Please consider giving to a fundraiser for Georgeson Botanical Garden Friends.

Background

Even in the harsh climate of Alaska, Doug used his gardening skills to transform icy plots of land into lush landscapes. Throughout his life Doug continued to find peace & joy in gardening, whether it was in his own backyard or visiting and volunteering at local botanical gardens such as the University of Alaska Fairbanks Georgeson Botanical Garden and Oakland's famous Morco Rose Garden. Doug also loved to learn & share about plants and it would be amazing for that passion & energy to continue in the world as part of a living, growing, teaching garden such as these.

Donations made here will be used to set up memorial space in Doug's name & fund work at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Georgeson Botanical Garden. These are examples of what our collective efforts might create in Doug's honor:
$1,500 - garden bed or tree dedication
$2,500 - bench dedication
$10,000 - special feature or structure dedication

All donations received here will be given to Georgeson to create a memorial. Donations can also be made directly to Georgeson in Doug's name on their website or sent to: P. O. Box 81777, Fairbanks 99708
