So sad to hear of Doyles passing.  I'm on oxygen 24/7 since Aug. 2021, but worked for Doyle in the office of states attorneys as case investigator paralegal volunteer starting in 2013.  Doyle had arranged this through Joe Day and Angela Alsobrooks, a year I greatly enjoyed while deciding where to spend all of my retirement volunteerism time since in 2014 since was then splitting my time then at DC MPD uniformed member Citizen Volunteer Corps when not in Doyle's office.  Also as Hyattsville resident I knew Doyle locally for the occasional chance coffee-howdy-chat meetings since 2014.   I am personally better off having known Doyle and will miss him.  My spouse Nina and I are sincerely sorry for your loss.
It was quite accidental that I put Doyle's name on line, due to a tornado in MD, and I was curious whether your area was involved.  I grew up with Doyle from the day I was born. My birthday was March 20, 1947 and I grew up on 10th and Doyle lived exactly one block north on 11th.  There are so many memories of our being children together.  The Niemanns had a costume shop in their basement and we often put on costumes "just for fun." When we were in the 7th grade, the thirdsome of our group had a dance at his house, and Doyle asked me to go.  That was the first date  for both of us, and the transportation to and from the party was the Niemanno pizza delivery VW.  When his parents were buried in the Grand Island cemetery, it was wonderful to see him again.  I will keep hundreds of memories in my heart. A dear friend lost.  My condolences to you all, it was a real surprise when I discovered his passing.
I came to know Doyle through my work on behalf of juvenile lifers. He was clear thinking, forceful and committed to achieving just results - an ideal public servant. I am so sad that he is gone. My condolences to Doyle's family, his co-workers and the community he served so well.
Words cannot express this loss.  A constant supporter of mine and an amazing person. Couldn’t get a better cup of coffee than from Doyle. Some of my favorite memories are gathered around the table tasting limoncello and other liquors Doyle had concocted. Love and will  miss him dearly.
Doyle, Brianna, Becky, and I …
2023, Washington, D.C., USA
Doyle, Brianna, Becky, and I all worked in the world of resentencing through prosecutor’s offices, and even after I’d changed jobs, we’d all still get together for regular happy hours in different spots around DC. We had the best time together, and we always loved hearing Doyle’s stories from his incredible life. He loved sharing about his kids whom he was so proud of and about his fun cruise adventures with his wife! I’m grateful to have met a friend like Doyle through work and for his constant kindness and generosity in always being so open to showing me the ropes even despite being so busy, introducing me to his huge network and always making me feel included, and genuinely respecting me as a peer despite his many more years of experience and knowledge. In unfamiliar work settings for me, I always felt comfortable once I saw Doyle there. I will always remember and be inspired by his brilliance, kindness, empathy, lightheartedness, and endless dedication to advancing justice and equity, and I strive and commit to being one of the many who will continue carrying on his legacy through the work I do and the life I live. Raising one more glass to you, Doyle - thank you for your friendship and mentorship. — with May Lim, Brianna Ford, Becky Feldman and Doyle Niemann

Sending my sincere condolences and love to Karen and the family. Peace be with you,

Tami Wellons & Family

I'm just starting this.  I'm going to go through old photos, look up things I can find.  We were friends for SO MANY YEARS ...  my daughter & Cassi were born very close to each other.  I'll never forget when Karen called me -- or I called her, and we tentatively said, "I'm PREGNANT" ----I AM TOO !!!  And we squealed for about 10 minutes on the phone between North Carolina and Washington, DC.

More later ....(Ms) Len Stanley  Durham/Chapel Hill, NC

PS>  Cassi, You must take after your Dad ...in writing, that is.  What you wrote was WONDERFUL, informative, and touching.  I totally got where you all were with all this from what you wrote.

I can't wait to see you guys again   Love,  Len

On behalf of the Police Chief's Association of Prince George's County,

We extend our deepest condolences to our dear friend Doyle Niemann's family, coworkers, and friends. We pray that the Lord gives you strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time. He will be deeply missed by everyone.

Chief Collington, Sr.                                                                                                                             Bladensburg Police Department                                                                                                 President, PCAPGC

I can't imagine how difficult this must be for you.  I remember Doyle as a man whose voice and presence left a big impression.  He was also a good listener.  Most important, he was someone who spent each day trying to make the world a better place.  I was so sad to hear of his passing and that he was no longer in the world doing the work he loved to do.  Sending you condolences, love, and hugs.
