Hard to believe that it has been a year already. I still find myself thinking that I will call or email Don to check in when I am going down to Keuka and want to stop for a chat. Of course these chats would then turn into great discussions over the years. My belated sympathies to the Erickson and McCloskey families. The last time that I saw Don was on Memorial Day weekend and he made a point to give me a great and comforting hug a little longer than our usual goodbye. Glad for the memory.

I am very sorry to say that after saying we would be there, something has made it so that is not possible. This is the only way I could find to notify you. Historically this would have been the very weekend that would be guests of Don and Priscilla at the B&B. We were so very fortunate that after Priscilla passed Don invite us as friends and not customers. Don and Priscilla were two of the nicest people we have known and we were blessed to have been able to spend time with them. Our deepest sympathies to the family. Steve Baldwin and Jan Gates

Both my wife and I have very fond memories of Don, and he was a valued colleague of mine at Keuka College. I remember swapping stories with him often, as we were both alums of USC. He always had a ready smile and a word of welcome. He is sorely missed, and my thoughts go out to his family.

We were so very sorry to learn of Don's passing. Getting to spend time with him was a privilege we will always treasure. His kindness to so many others, his thoughtful conversations about love and life, his deep spirituality were lessons we will always treasure. His memory will live on in those who were fortunate enough to enter his world

We only in the last couple of years got to know Don through an online Bible Study and a couple of visits to Penn Yan UMC and the Allens. (Our daughter is Pastor Kristen). Dean and he had so much in common and we thoroughly enjoyed getting to know him. We were sad to hear of his passing and will miss him for sure on future visits. It was a blessing to know him even for the short time that we did.

Don was the first neighbor I met while walking my dog when I moved here full time a few years ago. That was the first of many chats we were to have at the road side. We would talk about the plants and trees, our histories, and mostly about the privilege of living on this beautiful lake. He was a gracious and serene presence, and I will miss him. I will continue to think of him as I pass his lovely home, especially when the dogwood tree Priscilla planted flowers each spring.

Neighbors for over 40plus years, we are saddened to lose Don. Always our greeter as we arrived at the lake, his hugs and welcome made our summers and time complete. His love of family, home and the lake was ever present in all he did and filled his conversations with pride. He had continual energy, whether tending to his yard and flowers, or at times, up on ladders( well past the age of safety and our anxiety!). He was resilient in keeping active. It was only Covid that kept him from volunteering and helping at his church and community programs.
We have lost a friend , but we will be ever grateful for the years we have shared at the lake with Don.

Don and Priscilla were the main reason we spent 20 great years on our Keuka Lake. First as guests at Tudor then as friends, suffering the loss of Priscilla with Don and now learning of Don’s passing is a sad time for Susan and me. Great memories though!!

We were honored to be with Don during the afternoon of his passing. As we held his hands in prayer and recited the 23rd Psalm, he nodded and shared that beautiful smile we have all come to love. We sensed Don was fully at peace, knowing he would soon be embracing his Priscilla. Their journey as one now continues for eternity. "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD for ever." What a gift both Priscilla & Don were in our lives.
