Background
My husband Don was diagnosed with ALS in June of 2022. The progression of his disease was rapid and he passed away, just nine months later, on March 12, 2023. I cannot find the words to describe what it is like to witness what this disease does to a person, physically, mentally, and spiritually. My husband faced it with enormous courage and strength as it took everything from him.
Our family has seen firsthand the love, the community, and the support that comes with an ALS diagnosis. We can think of no better way to honor Don's legacy than by fundraising for the ALS Association with the sincere hope that someday there will be a viable treatment or a cure for this wicked disease.
