Dedrick's obituary
Dedrick Antoine McClain Egger was born on January 29, 1968, in Panama City, Florida. His parents are Gloria Dean McClain Egger Madrid and Guido Roosevelt Egger. In 1996, Dedrick gained a stepfather when Rinaldo Anthony (Tony) Madrid married his mother and loved Dedrick as his own son.
Our beloved Dedrick professed Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Greater Bethel A.M.E Church, Panama City, Florida; St. Edwards Catholic Church, Little Rock, Arkansas; Greater Paradise Missionary Baptist Church, Little Rock, Arkansas; and First A.M.E. Church, Los Angeles, California.
Dedrick attended Warren Dupree Elementary School in Jacksonville, Arkansas. He enjoyed the Catholic religion so much that in the 2nd grade he transferred to St. Edwards Primary and Intermediate Catholic School, where he received his first Holy Communion and graduated. He played the piano and was an active member of the Riverdale Soccer Team where he played the forward position. Dedrick attended Catholic High School for Boys in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he was a member of the Junior ROTC, Varsity Soccer, Swim and Debate teams.
The summer of 1984, brought Dedrick and his Mother to California. He enrolled and graduated with honors from Beverly Hills High School, where he was an active member of the Soccer and Swim Teams. In 1985, Dedrick was accepted at Loyola Maramount University where he majored in Business Administration. In 1987, Dedrick joined the United States Navy and served his country faithfully for two years and was honorably discharged. He returned home to pursue his desire to help his fellow man and in 1989, his entrepreneurial spirit took over and he created D. Egger and Associates an International Technical Recruiting Firm. Dedrick was also a full partner with his Mother in her business MedCare Medical Distributors, Inc.
Dedrick knew the true meaning of "A Good Time", Dedrick was an excellent Bowler. He was a member of bowling groups such as Del Rio Tournament Club and El Dorado Tournament Club League. He enjoyed all sports, music, and people. Dedrick was willing to help others and the love of his life is his Mother, Gloria, whom he dearly cherished and adored.
Dedrick's life journey came to an end on Thursday, December 27, 2001. Jesus Christ was the author and finisher of his faith. His life was centered in His love, peace and joy.
Dedrick was proceeded in death by his Grandfather Sandy "Sam" McClain Sr., and Grandmothers Carrie Ora Lee McClain and Elfrida Egger; his Aunt Carrie "Katie" Lee McClain; Uncles Sandy McClain Jr., and John E. Curl; and Great Uncles Dan, Houston, and Edward Curry; and Great Aunt Cleaster Thompson.
Our beloved Dedrick leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted family: His Mother, Gloria Dean McClain Egger Madrid (San Jacinto, CA), and Father, Guido Roosevelt Egger (Susalito, California). While not preceding Dedrick in death, the family honors the recent passing of his stepfather Rinaldo Anthony (Tony) Madrid on January 9, 2026.
Dedrick and his stepfather will be interned on February 2, 2026 at Holy Cross Cemetery & Mortuary in Culver City, CA .
