Personal note from James

For those that couldn't attend Debbie's celebration of life, here is the video: https://drive.google.com/file…

Debbie and I started secretly dating in 1996 due to being co-workers. Oh the fun we had eventually letting people in on that secret. Just like everyone else, I loved her laugh and smile. We had a 10 year age gap, but that never mattered. We just enjoyed being together and making each other happy. There were so many funny things we shared just between the two of us; things I will continue whispering for the rest of my life in hopes that she's listening.

I found this saying and shared with Debbie in the last year because it perfectly conveyed our relationship: "To love is nothing, to be loved is something, but to love and be loved by the one that you love is everything".

Our niece (Zoe) stated that "Love, not cancer, defines our last months together." Those words ring very true. We spent a lot of time in the hospital the last 5 months, but we made the best of it we could. There were so many "I love you's" we shared during that time. And I don't reflect on this time with sadness, because we were together 99% of that time. It never mattered what we were doing; as long as we were together.

Zoe has one other quote for all of you. "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die." Please help keep Debbie alive by sharing your favorite photos, videos, stories, and memories on this website for all to enjoy and cherish forever. I plan on continuing to post photos as I go through our albums and computer. I know I will need these to get me through the difficult days ahead.

Please continue to reach out to me. I may cry on you, but talking about her with everyone helps me. Thank you for your love, support and prayers during this time.
