Deborah's obituary

Loving wife, mother and grandmother Deborah San Martin, passed away on October 4 after a short battle with Leukemia. Deborah was 70 and was surrounded by family when she passed.

Deborah was born to William and Gladys Reites on October 24, 1951 in New Orleans. She fell in love with David C. San Martin while in high school, they were married for 53 years and have two children and four grandchildren. Throughout her life she was passionate about sharing the love of Jesus with others, ultimately leading Deborah to a fulfilling life in ministry.  She and Dave graduated from Rhema Bible Training College in 1994, they served together as pastors for 22 years in Okeechobee, FL.  She also received her Doctorate in Christian Theology from the International Miracle Institute. Deborah was considered a spiritual mother and mentor; she was an example of perseverance and had a servants heart. Her faith was strong, unwavering.

Deborah cherished spending time with family and friends, she had a gift for hospitality and loved entertaining. She enjoyed time spent at the beach or picnicking as well as cooking family favorites and ensuring milestones were celebrated. Her laugh was infectious, her spirit joyful. She was colorful and creative in so many ways.

Deborah joins her brother, Barry F. Reites, and grandson, Johnathan M. San Martin, in Heaven. She is survived by many loving family members, including David C. San Martin (husband), Jennifer Vander May (daughter), David M. San Martin (son), William Vander May (son-in-law), Wendy San Martin (daughter-in-law), Emily Vander May (granddaughter), Anna Grace San Martin (granddaughter), Luke San Martin (grandson), and her parents as well as siblings William Reites (brother), Sherrad Reites (brother), and Nannette Doria (sister).

No matter how you feel, get up, dress up, show up and never give up! A quote Deborah shared not too long ago.
