We are missing our dear friend, David. We first met almost 20 years ago when we all moved to Vashon Island at around the same time. Over those years, we have enjoyed many times together both personally and professionally. Most special was his interest with our young daughter Brette. Both of them adored each other.
The warm gathering of friends and family on the island a few months ago was indicative of the deep friendships many of us enjoyed with David. Terrific people saluting a very special guy. It was especially good to finally meet Delaney. We regret that we haven't had a chance to meet Mackenzie and Pam, and hope that may happen someday.
Best wishes to everyone in his family as you mourn your loss and celebrate his great life. Thanks David for bringing smiles to all of us.

I am so, so sorry to hear of the incredibly sudden loss of your Dad. It’s a horrible thing to lose a loved one especially at the young age he was. Dave and I met in 1974 at the U of O and were good friends our whole time in school there sharing classes together in construction management and architecture.
He had the Bolin swagger filled with the love of life. He was always the man about town driving his VW van with his copilot. We always had a good time together and although geographic distance kept us apart, we kept in touch over the years. We talked about our families, work, adventures, relationships and faith.
He was so proud of his kids and his face would light up telling me about Abraham and Arlo. He was always optimistic about life looking forward to the next project and adventure. He adored his sisters and was close to his parents, something we definitely had in common. I have 4 older sisters so we could relate to the love and close bond that was facilitated by the way we were raised. He was also one of the few college friends where we openly talked about our faith and the strength that provided us during challenging times.
My last conversation with him was a few months ago with him sitting back in his office easy chair, ear buds in place telling me about his love for Pamela and of course an update on you and your children.
I am so sorry and sadden for you to lose your dad, a role he cherished. My heart goes out to you and your family, he will be sorely missed. This photo represents a glimpse of the person we always referred to simply as BOLIN.
