Dan was a very nice person and I enjoyed going to high school with him. He was kind and thoughtful and always had a smile on his face. He will be missed…
I met Daniel in November of 2024, and from the very beginning I loved his energy and his funny, bubbly personality. We will truly miss his smiley face and those middle finger earrings always made me laugh. The last time we spoke, he was so excited about going on a cruise with his son. I’m heartbroken that he didn’t get to take that trip, but comforted knowing he’s now on an eternal vacation with his wifey, whom he spoke about so often and with so much love. He will be deeply missed, and I’m so grateful I had the chance to meet him. - Dental Office front desk
I am deeply saddened by this news. Dan, Kathy and William Were close in the 8 years I lived in Tahoe. I have missed their warm friendship since moving off the hill. Thinking of them often! My FAVORITE story: the PLAN was that I would take Dan out shooting for an hour or so, while my wife and Kathy set up the house for his surprise birthday party. So.. we found a spot up kingsbury and were plinking away.. and I kept trying to tell him it was TIME TO GO… and he kept insisting on one more box of shells… LOL. H wouldn’t leave till we spent the WHOLE BRICK of bullets… Making us about 4 hr late to his party… LOL. I REALLY caught it for that one.. but DAN am I.. had a GREAT Birthday! I am gonna miss you Dan… Thanks for the time Together!
Unfortunately, I’ve only known Dan for a few years, because he was gentle giant that was a blessing to me every time we were together. He was one of my poker buddies and he came every time to play a good game and even if he lost, he was still a gentleman. He is and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He is with the Father now, which gives me solace, and I look forward to seeing him again in paradise.
Sad news. We first met in Newport RI while I was attending OCS. I was thrilled to discover that he was aboard the Nat Greene when I reported aboard a year later. RIP SAILOR. We have the watch.
I was so very sorry to hear of Dan's passing. He and my husband, Sal served together in the Navy on Subs for many years. My husband passed back in 2012 at age 66. He also was a Mess Management Specialist and served for over 20+ years. His Navy family was always special to him. Dan was always kind in the messages he sent after my husband died. Now I send blessings to him and his surviving family. Navy families are forever entwined. ❤️
