Cris's obituary
With profound sadness, we remember Cristine (Cris) Giordano, who passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024. Born on September 5, 1952, in Frankfurt, Germany, Cris was the beloved daughter of Nicholas and Mildred Giordano. Throughout her life, she faced challenges with courage and grace, always embracing opportunities to mentor, teach, and heal. As a respected Qigong teacher, she inspired many with her wisdom and compassion.
Cris’s intelligence, unique perspective on life, and deep love for Bodega Bay and the ocean touched everyone who knew her. Her journey was marked by resilience and curiosity. After earning her degree in English, Cris broke new ground as one of the few women working on a road crew for Caltrans, paving the way for a career with the state of California that included roles as a technical writer, electrician, and her favorite position—bridge operator on Sacramento's Tower Bridge.
Upon retiring, Cris dedicated herself to her passions as a therapeutic masseuse and Qigong practitioner, teacher, and mentor. Her students fondly recall her impressive certifications and extensive knowledge. In 2023 Cris was awarded the black belt and title of Master Instructor, Rank V by the Pacific Goshin Jitsu. This certification was awarded to Cris in recognition of her dedicated training, practical knowledge, outstanding ability and valuable services rendered to the art of Jiu Jitsu and Goshin Jitsu.
Cris is survived by her stepdaughter, two grandchildren, sisters, brother, and a circle of devoted family, friends and students who will forever cherish her spirit, friendship and lasting influence.
