We met Chris while serving in the Navy together in Nea Makri, Greece. We played in our band Squid Bikini and had some extremely memorable times together both musically and just living life together as we were all growing up as young adults. Our base eventually closed and we went our separate ways so the band didn’t break up but rather we were forced to quit playing together. Will, John and I were able to keep in touch but we lost contact with Chris. It wasn’t until 2024 that I had some investigative help and located Chris. To ensure I was talking to the right Chris Burgess I asked an important test question. “What product did Squid Bikini unofficially endorse?” Chris responded that he still has Twinkie stains in his guitar case. We were so happy to know he was still alive and set up a zoom meeting and I got a photo of our brief reunion some 35 years later. We will forever cherish the times we were able to spend with Chris and will always miss our life brother!
The girls desperately wanted to go horseback riding, so Topher promised them he would take them for their birthday that year. We all had a lot of fun, especially listening to Topher chastising his horse, Chester, who was a handful!
