Chris's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Christopher David Blaskie, known to many simply as Chris, “Blaskie”, or Uncle Chris. Born March 24, 1984, Chris left us far too soon on March 17, 2026, just one week shy of his 42nd birthday, leaving a void that can never be filled. In his passing, we remember a life lived with humor, love, and a constant spirit of caring.
Chris is survived by his mother, Patricia; his siblings, Jason and Melissa; his sister-in-law, Judy, and brother-in-law, Brent; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Avery, Jackson, Mason, and Piper. He is also survived by his uncles, Dan and Dave of Michigan, along with many cousins and extended family across the Midwest. Chris’s close friends in the Gilbert, Arizona area were like a second family to him, as was his loyal canine companion, Sandy.
Chris found joy in bringing people together. He loved hosting weekends filled with barbecues, appetizers, and his famous nachos, often with an Arizona Diamondbacks or Arizona Cardinals game playing in the background—or simply as an excuse to enjoy time with those he loved. He spent many holidays with family in Southern Illinois and Florida, creating memories that will be cherished forever. He loved spending time on the boat – with or without a fishing pole in hand and was always ready to play a game with the family after dinner such as Pass the Trash or Catch Phrase.
His gentle nature drew children to him—especially his nieces and nephews, as well as the children of his friends. He was always the person you could count on for a helping hand, no matter the need.
Chris had the green thumb in the family filling his home and yard with beautiful plants. He loved the desert landscape and hiking Camelback and other regional parks. In lieu of flowers, if you would like to give a gift we encourage you to honor Chris’s love for the desert and it's natural beauty and make a donation in his name to the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix at (https://dbg.org/tributes).&nb…
