Chris's obituary
In the warmth of his Belchertown home, with his beloved family by his side, New England native Christopher Edwin Grazioso aged 49, passed away of cancer on November 4, 2022. Chris had friends all over the world who shared his love of music, disc golf and highly developed wit. People were attracted to his warmth, kindness and the physical strength that allowed others to be themselves because they knew they were safe to be who they are in his protective presence. The greatest beneficiaries of his enveloping and loving spirit are the beautiful women he leaves behind; his wife of 21 years, Barrett and their daughters, Sophia and Gianna, ages 18 and 11. Chris, a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst pursued a professional career in the field of information technology. His most recent commitment was as IT Manager for The Republican in Springfield, one of the oldest newspapers in New England. Chris had a special passion for disc golf which led him to compete at a pro master level for a number of years. His enthusiasm and love for the sport was infectious. Through his knowledge and patience, he mentored and encouraged many others to participate. As a founding member of Quabbin Valley Disc Golf, he was instrumental in bringing a local course to Belchertown that is now on a path to completion.
Chris immersed himself in music. He played drums in a local band, produced an album, and had encyclopedic knowledge of all genres of music. He was a connoisseur who pursued and delighted in discovering artists that inspired him. His global social media network created a sense of community through music and a shared sense of humor that illuminated the absurd occurrences that season daily life. As characterized by a friend, “Chris always won the internet.” Besides his wife and daughters, Chris is survived by his father, Frank Grazioso; his mother Cynthia Consic and his brother John Silvestri. A sister, Patience Angelillo, died in 2011.
A life celebration for Chris is planned for April 2023 at one of his favorite disc golf courses. A memorial fund has been established which can be located at https://everloved.com/life-of….
