Chris, I can't express the sadness I feel as I come to grips with your untimely passing. We weren't in constant contact but when we linked, you always had a good word for me and you were especially excited to see that my son was playing youth bball last we spoke. Just know you were greatly loved, admired, and appreciated and you will most certainly be truly missed. Rest In Power Big Cousin!! Love You Chris!
I’m still in shock on our loss of Chris! He was a great guy! We grew up together! Another Angel we have received. My sincere condolences to the Cheeks family, his wife, kids and friends! 🕊🕊🕊

I’ve known Chris Cheeks since 1998 when he was an asst at VCU & I was at Coppin State. Being from Baltimore and Cheeks from DC we always had a mutual friendship with the challenges of coaching Div 1 basketball. We’d exchange stories and helpful info when our paths crossed on the recruiting trail or coaches meetings and events at the Final 4. We last spoke at this years BigEast Tournament in Madison Square Garden about life, our families and opportunities in coaching. The best memories i have of my man Cheeks was in the Fall of 2013 in my 1st year w Paul Hewitt at George Mason. My Man called me out the clear blue sky and asked me had I found a Church yet. I Told him my family was still in Tampa but we would look. He said “you need to check out Darrell Greens church” over in chantilly!! I did that the following Sunday and once my family relocated to Nova we attended that Church ever since. And even after we moved to Delaware we STILL watch Grace Covenant Services Every Sunday!!!
REST IN PARADISE CHEEKS…Eric Skeeters & Family 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
