Caroline's obituary

Caroline Rose Ouimet, age 32 of Quincy, MA, formerly of Wrentham, MA, passed away unexpectedly on December 18th, 2023.

Caroline, affectionally also called Carly, was born on March 28, 1991, to Pamela Ouimet and was raised by her mother in Wrentham. Carly, Pam, and her sister Erin were extremely close.

She graduated King Phillip Regional High School in 2009, where she excelled not only academically but also athletically in both field hockey and lacrosse. She continued her education at Boston College Connell School of Nursing, where she not only earned her Bachelor of Science, Registered Nurse degree magna cum laude in 2013 but also her Master of Science in Nursing in 2020. While there, she served as an Appa volunteer, was one of the chosen few to live in The Mods senior year, and made incredible, lifelong friends.

After college, Caroline began her career in nursing at Emerson Hospital before shortly transitioning to the Emergency Department at MGH in 2016. She worked tirelessly as an ER and trauma nurse throughout the pandemic alongside her friends and colleagues to save many lives. After obtaining her Masters degree, Caroline moved to the MGB urgent care network to practice as a Nurse Practitioner beginning in late 2022. She is remembered as not only a top-notch care provider but also a terrific leader who made a point of saying “good job today” to her orientees because she knew first-hand the difference it makes in training.

In her downtime, Carly loved exercising, reading, and traveling. While spin classes were her favorite, she was also an avid runner and completed a half marathon in May 2019. Caroline loved to read and trade books with Erin, particularly exciting thrillers while curled up under a cozy blanket with a candle burning in her home oasis and favorite Bravo show in the background. She started traveling at an early age with her family to Europe and continued post-college with friends both domestically and across the globe, including incredible ski trips from the Northeast to Colorado to the Alps, touring across Europe with her sister and college friends, and various trips with her mom and sister.

Caroline enjoyed spending time with her numerous friends. She loved attending concerts (especially country) and sporting events, and she thoroughly enjoyed trying new restaurants and a fun night out. Most of all, Carly loved her family. She loved playing cribbage with her grandfather and late grandmother, heartily competed in the annual Fantasy Football league with the entire family, and loved flower arranging and just being together with her mother, sister, and brother-in-law. Above all, Caroline loved her niece and nephew, and they absolutely adored her and will miss their favorite “Mondays with Auntie”. We will all miss her dearly.

Caroline is survived by her mother, Pamela Ouimet of Wrentham; her sister Erin and husband Evan McCoy together with their children Jack and Clara of Wrentham; her grandfather Salvatore Ingeneri of Canton, MA; Larry and Kim Ingeneri of Middletown, RI; Rosemary and Brian McHugh together with their children Breanna and Colin of Portsmouth, RI; Paul Ingeneri of Canton; and Trixie the cat.

Relatives and family are invited to attend visiting hours Saturday, December 23rd, 2023 from 4p-7p at the R.J. Ross Funeral Home in Wrentham. A celebration of life will be private and held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Caroline’s name may be made to Boston College Student Aid or the Animal Rescue League of Boston.
