Brenda's obituary

Brenda Hyde Brown, 73, of West Monroe, Louisiana, passed from this life on December 17, 2025. She was born on August 9, 1952, in Monroe, Louisiana, to William and Elsie Hyde. A proud graduate of Ouachita High School, Brenda enjoyed her time in the marching band and carried a lifelong love for music and fellowship.

Brenda met the love of her life, James Brown, at church, and the two were married on March 13, 1981. Their marriage was a partnership rooted in faith, service, and devotion to others. For 39 years, Brenda was a faithful member of Living Way/Apostolic Restoration Church. She spent more than two decades singing in the choir, and together she and James taught Sunday school for nearly 20 years. They also dedicated many years to the college and career ministry, impacting countless young adults with their guidance and compassion.

Creative and generous with her talents, Brenda found joy in floral work and decorating. She devoted many years to coordinating weddings, banquets, and special events for her church, friends, and family—always adding beauty, warmth, and a personal touch to every occasion.

Brenda is survived by her daughters Julie and Tammy Johnson, and Aundi Brown; grandchildren Skye Andrade, Nestor Andrade, Brent Vallery, Madison Ryals, and Nick Ryals; great grandchildren Reagan Andrade and Everlee Ryals; sisters Patricia Fowler and Connie Hyde; sister in law BJ Lawson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Elsie Hyde; her husband, James Brown; and her brothers, Donald Hyde and Glen Hyde.

A celebration of Brenda’s life will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Apostolic Restoration Church, 108 W.T. Hemphill Drive, West Monroe, Louisiana.
