Bobbie's obituary

43 Years Bold - A Life Lived Out Loud

Bobbie Herron didn’t just exist - she erupted into every room with purpose, heart, and a signature brand of sass that left no one unchanged. A powerhouse in heels, a strategist with soul, and a woman who could outwork, out-love, and outlast just about anyone, Bobbie left this world far too soon… but on her own terms: impactful, unforgettable, and somehow always in charge.

As Founder and President of The Bees Knees Agency, Bobbie revolutionized how automotive dealerships operate, sell, market, and lead. Her fingerprints are embedded in CRM systems, BDC scripts, leadership playbooks, and boardrooms across the country but her true genius wasn’t in the processes. It was in the people. She saw the potential others overlooked, breathed life into the worn-down, and raised standards wherever she set foot. She didn’t just break ceilings she built ladders and handed out blueprints.

But behind the scenes of her badassery was a loving daughter, fiercely devoted mother, ride-or-die friend, magical Gigi, beloved aunt and one hell of a “Fairy God Boss”. Her love for her children, grandchildren, and chosen family was the heartbeat of her world. Whether she was hosting an over-the-top birthday party, fixing a broken system, or mentoring the next generation of women in leadership, she did it with grit, grace, and just enough glitter.

Bobbie was also a celebrated speaker, a proud board member of Women In Automotive, and a frequent guest lecturer at Northwood University. She made every space better simply by showing up and showing up fully.

She is survived by her children, Destiny Lorraine Herron and Keegan “Jax” Herron and their father Ryan Herron; her chosen kids, Gordy Settlemyre, Amanda Murphy, and Aidan Smyth; her grandson and absolute pride, Niko Reign; her parents, Debbie Voss, Jeff Polley, and her step-mother Debbie Polley; a whole crew of siblings who kept life interesting; her “main chick” Jennifer Briggs; her tribe of misfits-turned-family; her countless friends and her loyal dog Harley who still refuses to sleep anywhere but her pillow.

She was welcomed home by her bonus dad, Van Voss, and her grandmother, Bonnie Humphrey — two of her favorite people, probably waiting with open arms, strong coffee, and front-row seats for the show they knew only Bobbie could put on.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday August 10th, at Frederick Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, from 1:30pm-4:00pm.

This won’t be your average memorial. Expect music, real stories, favorite cocktails, and maybe a few rhinestones. Attendees are encouraged to bring a memory, wear something bold, and say what needs to be said just like Bobbie always did.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a trust being established for her grandson, Niko. More details can be found under the “Give” tab on this site. Or honor her in other ways: mentor someone, speak up for what’s right, and refuse to shrink. That’s how she’d want to be remembered. <3

Bobbie didn’t fear death. She feared wasted potential. And she didn’t leave an ounce of hers on the table.
