Beverly's obituary
Beverly Brown Haskins, 52, passed on Sunday, February 1st, 2026 surrounded by her family and friends in a room filled with love, laughter, and to Beverly’s dismay, a few tears.
Bev was born on May 18th, 1973 in Raleigh, North Carolina to JC and Luong Brown. A year later she became a big sister to Jamie Brown. Bev and Jamie enjoyed a childhood traveling wherever the US Forest Service took JC, and wherever Lou handcrafted their loving home.
In the spring of 1990, WG fell in love with Bev and eventually she fell in love with his charm, thoughtfulness, smile, and even his ponytail. In October 1992, Bev and WG welcomed Hali into the world and were then married in December. Shortly after, WG joined the US Army, and the three of them moved to their first duty station in Hawaii. In March 1995, Holli made the family four.
WG, Bev, Hali and Holli built a beautiful life together filled with love, pets, sports teams, movie nights, and so much laughter. Bev was active in the girls PTO groups, made it to every sports game, and loved playing Bunco with her friends. In June 2010, Bev gained a sister when Jamie married Eve. In January 2011 and June 2013 Bev became The Coolest Aunt to Kenan and Rowan.
As the girls grew into adults, Bev became their best friend. Regardless of the girls’ wishes, every party invitation always included “+ Bev”, and she maintained a reputation as the life of the party. In October 2019, Bev danced to her heart’s content as Holli married Connor and again in April 2023, when Hali married Sara. She was a proud mother to Connor and Sara, and also a source of love and support for so many of Hali and Holli’s friends.
In August 2025, Beverly became Grammy to the beautiful Rhea Stout. Bev and Rhea enjoyed many naps, smiles, and laughs together. Bev’s “little Rhea sunshine” brought her so much joy. She wore the titles Mom and Grammy with so much pride.
Beverly’s family and friends will mourn the loss of her forever, but they are endlessly thankful for her love, wisdom, and example. In lieu of flowers, for those that feel called, donations can be made in her name to The American Heart Association or The Trevor Project. For those wishing to understand Beverly’s journey with cancer more deeply, the family recommends watching the film Come See Me in The Good Light, which Beverly loved so dearly.
