To Alice and all of family,
We are so sorry for your loss.
Armando was our friend and by far the best and smartest doctor we ever had.
Another friend said that Armando literally saved his life when all the other doctors failed to recognize the cause of his illness .
I enjoyed hearing Armando talk about Nanotechnology in medicine. He was so excited and passionate about its future and of course we will support his cause.
I was always so flattered that he called on me for advice and help in maintaining his properties and loved spending time with him and all your family when we were invited to your home.
Love,
Joe and Renee Drexler

Armando was Kind, Gentle, Compassionate and Understanding.

A few years back, we joined a group of Filipino doctors on a Viking cruise to Europe. Armando and Alice were there as well. While on land, just before going back to the ship, Alice, Perlie and I stopped for a photo shoot and Fred headed back to the ship and almost fell when he tripped over something on the ramp. He was upset and started screaming and blaming me for not attending to him since he was a recent stroke survivor then. I was in tears and so embarrassed about the situation.
Armando approached and consoled me. He said, don’t worry, its not your fault. We saw what happened and we caught him right on time to avoid the fall. Right then, I realized what a kind, gentle, compassionate and understanding person Armando was.

Recently, I registered to attend the Funeral Mass on Monday. However, on Sunday night after the Novena, Didi O'Connor texted me wanting to know if I’m still attending the funeral mass. Told her, I was having second thoughts about joining a large crowd due to covid since I am the only care giver for Fred who had a second stroke last year. Didi said use your judgement and double up on the mask if you decide to go. So then, I called Vendie Soriano , whom I was going to carpool with, to let her know that I've changed my mind and decided to cancel.
It was about 11:30 pm after I got off the phone with Vendie, when I started talking to Armando hoping that he would hear me. I said, I'm sorry Armando but I cannot attend your funeral mass.. Right then and there, I heard water dripping. So I checked where it was coming from. It was in the bathroom shower. Although I was scared, I said, it’s that you Armando? Then I called Didi to let her know about the incident.. She said, what do you expect, you talked to him so he answered you back. So we just laughed about it. Then I felt good and no longer scared. I turned the faucet on and off several times until the water stopped dripping. Mind you that shower never ever dripped by itself.
I guess that was Armando’s way of saying, it’s okay Elsie,
don’t worry about it, I understand.
Thank you Armando for understanding. I will treasure your friendship.
That’s how I want to remember Armando. A Kind, Gentle, Compassionate and Understanding person even in his life
after death.

Thank you for all of your loving messages, prayers, and support during this time.

Here's a video I did on 2-3-21 at 11:11 AM EST to share with you my experience last Monday when my Dad transitioned into pure Spirit.

I am sharing this with you because
1) I have not been able to get back to many of you 1:1 and
2) also in case it helps anyone who has had a loved one pass recently.

The link is not searchable but please feel free to share with anyone.

With love,
Arlene Dijamco Botelho

Alice I'm so very sorry about Armondo. I left a message on your email . Don't know if you got it. I contacted HSCC and put him and your whole family on the prayer list as soon as I heard the news. You and your family will be in my prayers on an ongoing basis.

Dr. Dijamco was an incredible family man, gentleman of letters, and a role model. He extended much hospitality to myself and later on to my future wife. I deeply admired his devotion to his family and how he balanced his professional duties with his family and personal life. My wife, Soyeon, and I are praying deeply for Dr. Dijamco and we extend our sympathies and wishes for comfort to your family. He brought so much joy to many including our family.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Dijamco family. I have fond memories of being with Anne and friends at the Dijamco's house. Armando was so welcoming and always had a big smile on his face, he will be greatly missed.
Gary and I attended a party at your home (as we are relatives of Angeline’s lifelong friend Tara Winters Friedman). We felt so welcomed by the entire family and enjoyed a private tour of the garden. Then, we had the privilege to have Angeline live with us in Westchester, New York when she was doing an internship. It was so much a joy to have her join our family and the happiness continues seeing her as a loving mom to three beautiful children. We were so sadden with the news of Armando’s passing.
We extend our heartfelt love and prayers to the entire family. It’s not a loss that goes away, although there is so much ❤️ in this family and close friends, we hope you can lean on one another with stories and memories to get you through this very difficult time.
Armando was a treasured friend and colleague. He saved my mother's life and allowed her another 5 years.
To Alice and Children of ANDO,

We thank You all for the friendship of a good man, Ando. I may not have the chance of a knowing him like the rest but the 6 years we have worked and shared a dream for advancement of Medicine in NanoParticle Hyperthermia is enough to know the man.

Not knowing him when we first met and having heard all his academic and clinical credentials I was intimidated how to deal with him. As the days, weeks, months and years went by we started having a unison of mind, dreams and aspiration. We pledged to see to completion using our limited God given talent that only our human weakness could fail us. But more than anything I saw the goodness and humanity in the man. As I have said, Ando is no Saint and he has the same failings what we have but for me he is as close to greatness a human can achieve.

Inspite of our close friendship I did not tolerate his negative side and never minced a word if I have to correct him. That is true friendship. In time I saw in him the only brother that I have lost.

On our last discussion for our research over the phone, I bid him goodbye and as usual jokingly I will close by saying “Magpakabait ka” (Always be good!). Little did I know that in 5 minutes he was gone.

Goodbye my friend and with that goes my firm and resolute promise that our dream research of NanoParticle Mediated Hyperthermia Therapy will come to conclusion and together in the other life we will see that we have done our job in the Lord’s Vineyard hoping that He will welcome us with the much awaited affirmation that we have done our job with his words “Well done my good and faithful servant ... You have done Your job well”.

Alice, from the time I came to CVICU at St. Joseph’s in 1983, I worked with you and Armando, always loving his quick wit and beautiful smile. He cared for his patients well and was never in a hurry with families or anyone who needed his attention. I was so sorry to get the news of Armando’s passing. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. He loved you so much and I know he will be greatly missed.

To our dear Dear Ando,
It broke our hearts to lose you,
but you didn’t go alone.
For part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.
He wrapped His arms around you
And whispered “Come & Rest”.
Lovingly,
Lily Samala
