Back in May, the ARHS Class of 2024 Student Council let us know that they would like to donate the remainder of their class funds to a memorial for Anna. Together we decided on a bench - something that would be useful, pretty, a place where people could rest and be together and that would last.  All of the things we have done the past few years to remember Anna have been difficult - no choice ever seems to be the right one. I think it's mostly because it makes something I don't want to be true so real. We could not have completed this project without several incredibly kind, patient, caring people - they are part of the many who have helped us so much.  Thank you to the ARHS Class of 2024, to AS and to Elena for helping us create this memorial that means so much to us and others. We know Anna approves because Friday, when we finally put the plaque on the bench, I was talking with Elena in front of the bench and she said, "Did you hear that?" It was the distinctive call of a red tailed hawk - perched on one of the tall poles by the field where the bench sits, looking down at us. Hi Anna.
