Anna was simply remarkable. They were talented in so many different ways, kind, fun-loving and passionate. What a bright, bright light that we were lucky to know. Love to all who knew and loved Anna.

I was so sad to hear this news, it broke my heart. I coached Anna Nordic skiing when she was in 3rd or 4th grade. Her attendance wasn't very good so I didn't get to know her very well at that point. But it was great when she started skiing at the High School level and I reconnected with her. Because of pandemic rules, our teams, Mohawk Trail and Amherst, we were the only allowed to race each other. So we raced together every weekend. At the end of the season, Anna came to out Blueberry Loppet and skied 50 km with us. It was so nice to get to know her better. This year we are dedicating our Loppet to Anna's memory.

I am so sorry and shocked to hear about the death of Anna Burns. I am a former colleague of Sarah's at Hilltown Community Health Centers. I only "met" Anna once, when I went for a walk with Sarah and she carried baby Anna in a backpack probably about 15 years ago. It sounds like they had an accomplished and eventful albeit short life. May the love of those around you, and the love of those no longer present, help you through these difficult days and nights.

I remember being a counselor for Anna at Morse hill. It was a small 2-week group and we had an amazing time doing all the activities that I have found out they had grown to love. I remember them biking around in circles on the field next to the Birdhouse for hours and they always had a devious smile and eventually a menacing glare when I asked them to stop, they didn’t.
In a photo I have shared, you can see me, duck taped to a wall and Anna is wearing a blue climbing helmet that is way to small (sorry Victoria, it also looks like it’s unclipped). My CIT, Sora Green who later became a counselor reminded me why they duck taped me to the wall. It was trash points, a silly game where you get a point every time you pick up a piece of trash. I remember Anna and other campers intensely yelling out “Trash Point!” Every time they picked some gross piece of trash that I then had to put in my backpack. The points added to the amount of duct tape they could use to tape me to the wall. They picked up a lot of trash and I ended up on the wall on the last day of camp.
I will be thinking of Anna from now on as I collect trash points in Colorado. My days leading Anna and other campers on adventures in Western Massachusetts will stick with me forever and my condolences go out to anyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting Anna.

I was heartbroken when I heard the news of Anna's passing. Thinking of Sarah and the Burns-Goff family. May Anna's memory be a blessing.

Anna was in my daughter's school cohort from the beginning of Elementary School. Although I don't have a specific memory of Anna to share with you, all the stories that others have shared feel familiar. When I think of Anna I remember the sporty, blond kid with the genuine smile - always ready for an adventure and to have fun. Their kindness radiated from a young age. Sarah and Stephen, please know that we share this devastating loss and are thinking of you.

Anna's smile warmed up the ski trail for me and my entire family. Thank you for sharing such a special human with the world.

It broke my heart to hear about Anna, we’ve lost one of the nicest most including people this fall. I will always cherish and appreciate the way Anna without hesitating became friends with me right away even tho we didn’t speak the same language. I remember playing outside on our snow day without school, playing in their backyard with the best toys ever and the party the Goff family hosted that fall. Even tho I almost didn’t know anyone there, they made me feel seen and we had so much fun! They were truly an amazing person and Amherst won’t be the same without them. I miss you Anna, you will always be with us❤️Thank you for making our short time in the states one of the best times in my life!

I enjoyed Sunday morning Shutesbury and Amherst rollerskis with Anna and Ian this summer. Anna had beautiful skate style. I love that they looked out for the skiers in our group, especially Ian, with their gentle reminders to move from the pavement to the grass as we waited for members of the group to catch up. ♥️
