I have known Ann for years since she and George were living in Stamford and my husband and I in Darien. We met through the Book Group of the Mt. Holyoke Alumnae Club. As the years passed and we both moved several times we kept in touch and got together when we could. We bought a summer home (camp) in northern NH and would stop to visit them in Woodstock,VT and they would come to us at camp. We also took trips with them to the Dalmatian Coast and the Greek Islands (Holyoke alumnae trips) and one fall we shared a rented house in Provence . As couples we booked a cruise down the Elbe on Viking River. Many happy times as we were all compatible and kept in touch. For many years Ann and I played Words with Friends almost daily until she became too ill . We will miss her but she will remain in our hearts. George our hearts go out to you and Daniel and Kate. Ann was a very special woman.
George and family, our hearts go out to you in your time of loss. As members of the 45+ year old Gourmet Group, we always enjoyed sharing meals and company with Ann who always went out her way especially when hosting in Vermont. She will be remembered as bright, thoughtful, fun and caring for others. We will miss her. Love, Rhoda and Art.
Ann was the younger sister of my mother, and she was a wonderful aunt. Her life, her travels and her time - all enriched my life. I will think of her often.
I had the chance to meet Ann only a few times, when she accompanied George to some international events where we coincide, because of work. I first met George in Montreal, in 1996, as I was one of the fellows for the iNET meeting of that year, coming from El Salvador. I know George's inspiration and strenght for doing all the good he has done, came from Ann, and so I know she was a good and kind person. May she rest in Peace. Un abrazo to George and all family and friends.
I meet Ann and George last year working for them, one of the most caring couples in the community they live in. Ann and I relationships quickly changed from being a client to a great friend , Ann was a beautiful person in and out with a kind heart, her laugher was infectious, and so to me, the world has lost one of the good ones and has become less funny. I will cherish the special moments especially our conversations over tea and croissants. My thoughts are with the family during this difficult time. I miss you so much my friend, rest in peace.
We've always loved Ann's astute, funny and heartfelt contributions to our Mt Holyoke book club in CT- so glad Zoom allowed her to join us from Bethesda! Peace to George and her family...
Dear George and family, Please accept our deepest condolences on the passing of Ann. We shall always remember her graciousness in welcoming us as newcomers to the neighborhood so many years ago. Ann's warmth and kindness to all will always be remembered. May she rest In peace. Sincerely, Edmund and Angela D'Onofrio
I didn’t know Ann personally, but I’ve worked with George for many years and have always admired him deeply. I can only imagine the love and strength that Ann brought to their life together. My thoughts are with George and the family during this time.
What sad news. A very sad day for the Sweet Briar neighborhood and Stamford, CT. Ann & George were stalwarts of Sweet Briar and part of the fabric that makes the neighborhood special. Lucky are we to have known Ann. Our fondest thoughts go to George and the family.
While I did not know Ann well, I know and have known George for decades. I know this is a very sad time for George and for their many friends. I know that George spoke often and lovingly about Ann - a life mate for decades and always there for him as he has been for her. An inescapable void has opened up but I truly hope that it will fill, however slowly, with the memory of decades of life together. Nothing can take that away. Sigrid and I are thinking about you, George, and about Ann and your family. We are eager to hear your stories about your long time together; role models for many of us.
Dear George, Ann’s and your journey together inspires all that know you. In awe of such dedication and love. May Ann’s memory be a blessing. Anthony and Carol
I new Ann as part of the Woodstock VT community. She was gracious, warm, anyone who met her I am sure felt more confident of themselves having past time with her. I am grateful to have known her. A light in my life burns for her.
Oh dear George, I'm broken hearted with this tragic news. I will treasure the beautiful memories made with a beautiful friend over many years. My heart is with you. Hugging and holding you, Dan and Kate. Margie
George, Dan, Kate - please accept my sincerest condolences. I am terribly saddened and heart broken to have read the news of Ann's passing. My heart aches for all of you. Please accept all of my love.
