Sentencing Information for John Sweeney
Thank you to everyone who has continued to stand with our family through this heartbreaking time. Many of you have asked how you can support us during the final stage of the criminal process for Andrew’s case. We want to share the information publicly here so no one is left left out.

The sentencing for John Sweeney, who was convicted of murdering Andrew, will take place on Friday, December 12 at 10:30 AM in Room 502 of the Safety Building at 821 W. State Street, Milwaukee, WI 53233. The hearing will likely last two to three hours. Anyone who wishes to attend in person is welcome. If the court makes any changes to the schedule or judge assignment, we will update this page as soon as we learn more.

Impact Statement Information
Anyone who wants to support Andrew by submitting an impact statement is welcome to do so. These statements help the court understand who Andrew was and the impact his death has had on his family, friends, and community.

Impact statements may include:
• who Andrew was to you
• how his death has affected you
• what you believe the sentence should be (the legal range is 15 to 20 years)
You may also include cherished memories or photos of Andrew.

Jury Trial Information (in-person only):

Date/Time: Monday, October 13 at 8:30 AM.
Location: Room 502, Safety Building, 821 W. State Street, Milwaukee, WI 53233
Duration: The trial is expected to last two to three days. Ending around Thursday morning.

Jury Selection and Opening arguments started late 10/13/25.

Starting Tuesday 10/14/25 please arrive at 8:30 AM. ALL ARE WELCOME.

Note, there is no Zoom for the trial to protect the identities of the jury.

Dear Family and Friends,

As we approach Saturday’s memorial, we want to thank you for the overwhelming support, love, and kindness you’ve extended during this difficult time. Many of you will be traveling or joining us in spirit, and we wanted to provide a final update with helpful information to guide the day.

Saturday, August 10 – Memorial Schedule
10:00–11:00 a.m. – Family Visitation (Evangel Assembly of God)
Guests are welcome to spend time with the Martin and Stewart families before the service begins.

11:00 a.m. – Memorial Service (Begins Sharp)
Please arrive before 11:00 a.m.
There will be a portion of the service open for those who wish to share reflections or memories of Andrew.

1:00 p.m. – Burial at Graceland Cemetery

Located approximately 10 minutes from the church

You may join the funeral procession (stickers will be provided) or drive directly to the cemetery

Please bring sun protection (umbrella, visor, sunglasses) and electrolyte drinks, as it may feel like 93°F

Some seating will be available; let us know if you require accommodations

2:00–6:00 p.m. – Repass at Hilton Garden Inn
Join us at any time during this celebration.
There will be food, music, dancing, and an additional opportunity for people to speak and share.

Want to Speak?
If you know you would like to speak at the service or repass (1–2 minutes), please message us in advance so we can plan accordingly.
There will also be open opportunities to speak for those inspired in the moment.

We are working to livestream the memorial service via Zoom. If it cannot be streamed live, it will be recorded and shared afterward.
The link (if active) will be posted on the memorial website.

If you have AV or tech experience and can help facilitate the livestream, please let us know.

Volunteers
We don’t need much additional help, but if you would like to volunteer:

Handing out programs or tissues

Assisting with ushering or seating

Helping coordinate the funeral procession at the end of the service

Please arrive at Evangel by 9:30 a.m. and introduce yourself when you arrive.

Submitting Photos
The official slideshow is finalized, but we are still collecting photos and memories to be shared privately with close family and friends afterward.
