2022
When I first met Adam he was the tough guy, too cool, older brother…with lots of toys & treats that were off limits to us young guns. As the years went on though, I felt like he was always looking out for me. I wondered if it was because he thought my girlfriend was cute, but reading everyone’s memories here, it’s clear this was just how Adam rolled. Our most recent time together was a wild moto trip through Colombia. I was equally honored to be invited to join the brothers as I was nervous that I would hold them back. I did exactly that for the first hour, then somehow kicked things into gear and held my own for the rest of the journey. How? Adam’s support. He made me feel like I could handle it, so I did. I hope to share strength in such a calming way as Adam did. — with Adam Ray, Landon Ray, Rob Ray, Aaron Ray, Mike Ray and Daniel Miller

When my husband, Javier, got …
When my husband, Javier, got tenure, we threw him a small celebration. It was a surprise, so the plan was (just like in the movies) to hide and jump out when he arrived. It was a scramble when we heard him at the door and everyone fled (mostly to another room). Adam however, hid behind the couch and when Javier came in the door, Adam jumped out, threw his arms up and yelled “HEY!” Javier was confused as to why Adam was in our living room, alone..awkward. It was such a hoot! I even made Adam reenact it so that I could get a photo and never forget. We laughed about it for days. I love remembering that moment and how enjoyable he was to be around. He had the best laugh and I don’t know if I ever saw him without a smile. He certainly lived up to his name and was always a RAY of light. I’m so heartbroken for such a tremendous loss. Adam we love you and will miss you so much!
When I think of Adam I think …
When I think of Adam I think of the word balance. I see a lion and a lamb, a jester and a king…many things to many people, all true and good. But above all, loving and loved…in balance. Rest in everlasting peace dear nephew. With love and respect, Uncle Skip — with Santa Barbara 2022

We met Adam during the Butte Fire in Calaveras County. He and his brother were headed to the Rainbow Ranch on their dirt bikes riding into the still burning foothills avoiding numerous CHP & CalFire roadblocks along the way. He had no fear!   Afterwards, Adam & Megan joined our Mokelumne Hill Monday Night Dinner gang & annual Halloween fests  where their children were welcomed with open arms upon their births and a whole lotta love. Adam  fiercely loved, protected & provided for his family and was so proud of Zee & Ravi. His generosity and love for Megan was evident in all he did. Our Moke Hill tribe will never forget  Adam and the tribe will carry on with much love and support for Megan, Zee and Ravi in the years ahead. May you be at peace Adam. xxoo

When Adam was just a boy, he lived across the street.  There are many stories I could tell about his cheerful and mischievous youth!  He was so handsome, and he could charm his way with most anyone!  One Mother's Day, Adam showed up at my door with a bouquet of flowers - picked from my yard!  Then he asked me to pay for them!  I explained that he should continue his entrepreneurial spirit, but I didn't need to purchase the flowers I grew in my yard.  He would learn more about supply and demand as he got older.  He just laughed and said Happy Mother's Day!

He brightened the day for a lot of people!

I met Adam when he was 5 or 6 years old as the neighbor kid. God those were the days... Adam, Michael, and I were inseparable. I spent a good portion of my childhood as the adopted son to the Ray family, eventually finishing high school living with them at Rainbow ranch and again staying with them in El Granada in my early 20's. Adam was the sh*t! One of the toughest, most caring, outgoing individuals I've ever known. We had some fun times, some rough times too. I missed out on his last chapter in life as we really only communicated a couple times a year on the phone, but did get to be at his wedding and meet his beautiful wife. Adam, I'm gonna miss you bro!! Don't take our short time together for granted, stay in touch, connect. My deepest condolences to my 3rd. family, I love you guys!
