I worked with Aaron when he worked for Evercare. And with great respect I asked him to request my transfer out of sales and into his marketing department which he gave great consideration to and then accomplished, at which point I happily reported directly to him. Aaron and I had two different personalities; he was much smoother and had a more zen-like calm demeanor. I tend to run hot and a bit fiery. We were a good yin and yang and spent quite a bit of time laughing at our differences while also complimenting each other. In the end, he was the boss but he NEVER made me feel subservient or less than and he did very much help me manage difficult situations with quite a bit more grace than I actually possess. I was grateful to him and for him then, and I remain that way now. To Ingrid and his children, whom I’ve never met but who were brought to life through his regularly spoken adoration, please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. You will be in my thoughts and prayers in the hopes they help to strengthen you through this very challenging time.

I remember the first time, I  met Aaron. It was at a get together at his parent's home in Oakridge.  I was back in TN for summer vacation from University. My brother, Mogbeyi, had become good friends with his brother Darryl.  So we all had great time hanging out and trading stories. And from that moment, we would catch-up at family gatherings as they rotated between the  group of family friends every summer. Aaron had a knack for getting people together with his infectious smile and hearty laugh. Even when we all moved away and started our own families, he would check in on me every now and then. It was during one of these check -ins that I learned that Aaron  was on the NSBE board with my now wife, Rahcyne, more than  20 + years ago.  And one of her close friends was at Stanford with both Aaron and Darryl.

We both send our deepest condolences to the family.  Aaron will continue to live on though blessings that are his children, the impact he had on his students, the ideas he left in his books, as well as wonderful memories left in our hearts. Wishing his family, siblings  and parents peace and comfort during this most difficult time.

It was unbelievable how upbeat, good-natured, kind, and constructive he always was - which is an incredible feat when you are working on a startup.
