Personal note from From Roger's Family
Monetary gifts will be put towards funeral expenses and a donation will made to the National Kidney Foundation in Honor of Roger F. Hortinela.
Halo Halo Friends and Family! Although we are heartbroken by the passing of our father – we take great comfort in being together and the generous outpouring of kindness, prayers and condolences from our friends, family, community, and especially from those who knew him. He will be remembered as a funny, lighthearted, and admired man who taught us the importance of family, friendship, and love of God. Thank you for coming to say goodbye. He will live on in our hearts and memories until we see him again.
We hear you call our name
We see your smile that lights up your face
And it brings us so much pain
But then we remember how you suffered and we’re glad that it’s no more
We’re still expecting you to surprise us and just walk through the door
How did you do it?
Without a father of your own
You taught us to love one another
To be good fathers and good mothers
We’ll miss your words of wisdom
And all the wondrous works you did
You built a business out of nothing
So your family could have something
We miss your laughing eyes that would twinkle
Your loving voice that would tease
You always held that magic
In your roughened weathered hands, all seeds grew into trees
You were our champion
You raised us to be strong
You got knocked down and kicked around
But you’d always get back up
You were always ready to rumble
You went fighting all 12 rounds
A boy whose playground was the jungle
The greatest fighter pound for pound

Roger passed away on September 9th, 2020 at 3:16 p.m.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him.
And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him, I am well pleased.”
PRAYER FOR OUR DAD:
Oh Lord, offer this prayer for our beloved friend, father, and relative “Papa” Roger who has departed from this world and now returns to you.
Lord, you have freed him from all evils of this earth, bring him into your paradise where there is no grief or mourning or sadness, but peace and joy with your Son and the Holy Spirit forever.
We thank you for all the blessings you have given him in his mortal life. We pray that he was able to glorify you with the life he lived and the way he made use of your blessings.
We ask you, Lord
In your mercy welcome him into your heavenly kingdom.
He has gone to his rest.
Now he hopes to rise with you.
Oh Lord, in your encompassing love bring him into the light.
May he find eternal peace with you.
May he inherit your kind forgiveness
May he see you face to face.
Oh Lord, we ask you grant unto him eternal rest.
May he rest in peace.
