SERÁS INOLVIDABLE ETERNAMENTE!!

I believe it was 2008 at the Eglin AFB All Ranks Beach Park in Oka Island, when my wife, Naomi and I first met Dalena! It was the beginning of the Latin Salsa Festival where she would appear a couple of times when it was held at the FWB Landing. But, back to Dalena!

it was… ‘Friends at First Sight’! Because from then on, every time and anywhere we saw Dalena we had to make time to chat, and chat and chat! It was so easy to forget about where we were going only because Dalena was a pleasure to talk to and when I say ‘talk’ I mean we talk about family and friends and everything! Soon after we’d find out Dalena performed once a week at El Paso Mexican Restaurant in FWB so Naomi and I would make time, to go there. And when we did it would not be long, after Naomi and I sat down to eat and sipped on a Margarita, when Dalena would come over, between her sets, to chat with us. It was an honor and pleasure to have her entertain us both, with her music as well as her presence to our table! When it was time, she’d go back to play her next set and she soon would play ‘En Mi Viejo San Juan’.

It was easy to see and understand, the number of people who came to show their respect to Dalena’s family last Sunday 10/17/21. She was a Special Lady adored by all who knew her! And she’ll be UNFORGETTABLE for times on out from now! May you Rest In Peace, our dear friend!!

Laurie Pinter I was so sorry to hear about Dalena's passing. She was such a talented and beautiful woman inside an out. Dalena had such a vivacious and loving personality. I will miss her and her singing. My prayers go to the family who has lost such a special person.

Dalena will forever be remembered for her beautiful voice, her down to Earth humbleness and her voice. She’ll be missed to each and everyone whom she came in contact with! I first met Dalena during the early years of the Latin Salsa Festival, it might have been in the very first one in 2008, when the event was held at the EGLIN AFB Beach Park! After that, in many places around town, especially at El Paso Mexican Restaurant in FWB. Since Dalena knew I was from Puerto Rico, I remember going to the restaurant, where she was a staple and performed  her beautiful singing act, it wasn’t long after my Wife Naomi and I were sitting and having a Margarita Mix, that Dalena’s beautiful voice would resonate throughout the place interpreting ‘En Mi Viejo San Juan’!! Soon after, during her few minutes brake, between sets, she’d come and visit us at the table! Naomi and her would share families conversations and  making us feel like real family! But, everybody that knew her knows that, THAT SHE WAS A REAL PERSON AND FRIEND to everyone she came in touch with! We’ll  really miss her!!!

Jenny Kafie I was shock when I heard about our Dalena’s passing. Couldn’t believe it... still can’t believe it. Dear Johnathan loosing your Mom is never easy, may God bring you the peace and comfort of knowing that she is now enjoying eternal life with God. Let me know if I can do something for you and Roger.

I was so sorry to hear of Dalena's passing. She was such a Jewel of a Person and a Loving, Talented Person.....

My heart is so very sad to know that we have lost Dalena from our midst.

Dalena and l have been friends since she first visited Roger and he asked me to help her any way I could. I asked her if she knew Jesus, and invited her to church activities. She enjoyed the Spanish speaking services at St. Paul's church, and most beautifully, she fell in love with the biblical Jesus. The rest you know: she spread her love through her singing, her loving personality, and her friendship to others.

Dalena, you are unforgettable! Your physical absence hurts me deeply, but knowing you are with Jesus, fills my heart with joy. Love you forever!
