James's obituary

James Dillon, 85, of Muncie, IN, passed away on July 31, 2022 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

James was born on July 10, 1937 to Robert and Helen Dillon in Muncie, Indiana. Graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1955.  He married his high school sweetheart Mary Dillon in April 1955, going on to have 3 children; Larry Dillon, Debbie Poor and Darvina Cook.  James was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of Larry, Debbie, Darvina and Mary-and always tried his best to support them.

James was also passionate for all sports and could often be found  on the golf course, when not at home. Anyone who knew James knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. James was predeceased by his parents and loving wife. He is survived by his children, Larry Dillon, Darvina Cook and Debbie Poor; grandchildren , Mary Applegate (Jack), Allen Osborn (Nicole), Heather Temple and Chris Osborn; great-grandchildren, Dakota Temple (Courtney), Dylan Temple (Ashley), Jacque Applegate, Bryant Applegate, Cheyenne Osborn and Mayrissa Applegate.

James has requested a small service with immediate family only, but we appreciate everyones love and support and encourage everyone to share their favorite memories of James on this memorial website.
