Can't believe you have  left us for your next journey Ernie .

My abiding memory of you is a man of gentle joy. Always a joke to be told and a giggle to be had. Just such a gentle soul.

Always a joy to have you visit here and to go see you there. So glad now for our 2019 trip.

I hope you are telling some great jokes now wherever you are and that they have a good fixer upper project ready for you!

Much love for you always Ernie ❤

And my deepest sympathy and love to Aideen and all my Karger cousins 1st and 2nd generation!

Love

Sarah

Ernie Karger- What a guy! A good friend, great father and Christian in tireless works and deeds. We remember fondly our friendship with him & Aideen in Denver 1970-1987 & later visits to Pagosa Springs. His gentle nature and dry humor is where we see him in our minds' eyes. We will miss you Ernie Karger.

My big brother Ernie left us.

My heart can't stop crying

You will always be on my mind

and forever in my heart.

Ernie Karger was one of the nicest people we have ever known.  We met Ernie and Aideen more  than 40 years ago at Our Saviour's Church, and we last saw them at their home in Sequim in May, 2019, on our way to the Olympic National Park.  Ernie was the same as always.....an unassuming, generous man with a quiet strength and humor.  We will always remember him, and we send our most sincere condolences to Deidre, Neave, Mark, Kurt, and Frank.

A tribute to Ernie Karger, Radar of the Rockies...

He was a sheltering cove when the seas got rough, if you knew where to look for him.

A dad-joke away from a lighter heart.

A quiet hiking companion who remembered to bring the things easily forgotten.

A lover of nature and admirer of subtle forms of beauty.

A quiet and compassionate man in service to others.

A load bearing wall easily overlooked.

He was the human equivalent of a Labrador Retriever. Not the papered kind bred to fetch and obey, but the gentle kind, born to soothe after a hurt, or lead the way on an adventure.

We see the light from a star that’s died for a very long time as it travels to reach us. I’ll see the light of Ernie’s star, the warmth of his heart and kindness in his eyes for the rest of my life, and am grateful.

Miss you Ern.
